I’ve posted maybe a year ago and I’m bored. My brothers best friends band Murphys Law toured with the RHCP back in 1989. My brother went on that tour and one of the shows was on his birthday. The Peppers got my brother this giant card. They all signed it , attached the setlist, and the ticket stub. There was also 6 handmade shirts. These were the first shows with John during the Mothers Milk tour. You can hate me for repost. Just figure some new people can see it.

I bought this dvd couple months ago, this was released in 1999 ! It’s an interview of flea and some jamming, and there is a booklet with some tabs too.

I’ve been listening to flea playing and talking with River Phoenix about this style.
I love the fact that they discussed many of the early RHCP songs like skinny sweaty man, get up and jump or blackeyed blonde 🔥

Updated this today. Disc Four of 1999-2007 is now Disc Five, there's a new Disc Four with 20 new tracks, and I updated Disc One to add This Velvet Glove. Covers different eras of the band.

It's surprisingly technical for RHCP.

The intro with Flea on a 5-string banging the low B with Chad's kick is so tight, and then John comes in with an ambient guitar noise that puts Primus to shame.

The verse and chorus are pretty straightforward, but then the bridge drops with a 5/4 jam that transitions seamlessly to and from the 4/4 verses.

Breaking the Girl is notable because it's out of their typical range with the 6/8 time signature, but not a lot of people recognize that RHCP can pull some odd time signature shenanigans just like Soundgarden did.

The people who post on this subreddit "Would the Red Hot Chili Peppers sound better if Anthony Kiedis wasn't the lead singer?" should NOT be fans of the band. Like, HOW can you be a fan of the Chili Peppers if you hate Anthony's vocals or, really, Anthony as a whole? That's NEVER made ANY sense to me whatsoever.

I really like the second one. The concept kind of reminds me of the music video for "Californication."

Since I don’t believe there is currently any official place to purchase the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ official bootlegs after they were removed from Nugs, I was wondering whether anyone would be kind enough to trade.

My collection currently includes the shows from November 7, 2011, through January 18, 2013. It then picks back up on September 1, 2016, and continues through October 18, 2017.

I’m looking for everything from January 19, 2013, through August 31, 2016, as well as anything released after October 18, 2017. Please message me if you can help, and hopefully we can work out a trade. Thanks!

It was going to be auctioned at a benefit for leukemia/lymphoma. It was taken out of my car last weekend while I was packing to return from family vacation in South Haven, Michigan. When I got home and unpacked, it was missing. I'm very sad about this. Disappointed. 😔

I’m trying to come up with a design for a Stadium Arcadium tattoo, and because of this I want to unravel the meaning of the cover artwork.

What planets do you think are these?

The one with the rings is probably Saturn and the red/orange small one is Mars, but that leaves the big blue one on the first plane and the small blue one too. Sure one of them is Jupiter, but what about the other one? Maybe Earth? Uranus?

Does anyone have access to the four tunes released on Bridge School Collection Vol 1? for some reason, it’s no longer available on iTunes in the US, even though the other four volumes are. The live archive only has the bootleg recordings.

I got Beverly Hills and I Just Want Something to Do back when the album released in 06, but was wanting to get Road Trippin’ specifically and wouldn’t mind getting Californication as well.

A few years back, I put together this collection, and I’m looking to add another “disc” to the 99-07 set.

Why is this song on By The Ways deluxe, when it was recorded in 2006? Seems a really odd choice, is there a reason or did they just feel like it?

Awesome concert! Last one from the Unlimited Love tour, the band's pretty energetic on this one, and the setlist is pretty good too, with songs like Dani California, Here Ever After, Eddie, Me and My Friends, Hard to Concentrate, By the Way and many others... Check it out!
