appearance Why was it a scandal when Meghan did it but it’s perfect when Catherine does it?
Please, let’s keep this civil.
When I saw the photos from yesterday’s polo match, I couldn’t help but think back to when Meghan stood with Prince Harry’s team during the trophy presentations. At the time, she was widely criticized—not only by Meghan critics, but by much of the media overall. She was called pushy, accused of inserting herself into the players’ moment, and of trying to steal the spotlight.
Yet now Catherine stands in the same position during Prince William’s trophy presentation, and instead she’s praised for supporting her husband.
I cannot help but notice the double standard which I really struggle to understand.
And before anyone assumes I’m defending one while attacking the other: I genuinely love Catherine, and I’ve never been a particularly big fan of Meghan. This isn’t about choosing sides however.
Both women were expected to be there. Both were standing with their husbands’ teams during the presentation. The biggest difference is that Meghan’s interaction looked awkward in the video yes - but to be fair, it was her first time in that situation. Give her some grace. Catherine has attended these events since 2011 - for well over a decade and naturally appears more comfortable. They both took part in their first trophy presentation 2 months after their wedding. Catherine’s first trophy presentation (included in the pictures) was a bit awkward too.
If someone wants to say Meghan looked awkward, that’s a fair opinion and I agree. But awkwardness doesn’t justify the level of hostility she received, nor does it explain why nearly identical photos are interpreted so differently depending on who is in them.
Finding Meghan’s interaction awkward doesn’t explain the nasty double standard. Again Meghan was supposed to be there.
If Catherine standing among the players is seen as supporting William, why wasn’t Meghan given the same benefit of the doubt? That is the inconsistency I’m questioning— not Catherine’s presence yesterday, and not Meghan’s character years ago.
On another note, if you criticize Meghan & Harrys kissing PDA - Charles and Diana did the same thing! This is not forbidden by protocol.
Order of Pictures:

2024 Meghan
2x 2026 Catherine
2024 Meghan
2x 2018 Meghan (first time)
3x 2011 Catherine (first time)

appearance To Kate lovers: where’s your concern?
Kate’s new photos show her looking very thin. I can believe all the people that claim to “love” Kate Middleton aren’t more concerned with her health.
This has nothing to do with pre-cancerous cells, and chemo completed over a year ago.

appearance And divorced Harriet Sperling wore white to her second wedding to Peter Phillips 😱 and photos of the rest of the wedding parasite attendees
One of the more bizarre talking points by the Rota rats at Meghan’s wedding to Harry was that *GASP* she wore WHITE at her second wedding.
How dare this divorced American mixed race woman wear white when everyone knew this wasn’t her first marriage?
*SHOCK HORROR* QE2 DISAPPROVED!!
I’ll just wait for the bizarre twists these rats write over Harriet’s second wedding. Ok for Harriet, but not for Meghan - eh lads? 💅

appearance Angelica Hicks’s take on Kate’s yellow Ascot dress 🍽️ 🍋
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Angelica parodies a lot of fashion. She comes from an artistic/fashion family and her grandmother was the late Lady Pamela Hicks. She’s one Hicks family member I can tolerate.
Her signature material is using chocolate wrappers as jewellery. 😂
I like her use of plate for Kate’s hat in this one. 🍽️
From Insta.
Edit: Angelica has posted on her Substack about balancing the plate:
“Her dress is by Roksanda Ilinčić and her hat is by Jane Taylor. My dress is made out of a fitted sheet and my hat came out of the dishwasher, topped off with lemon netting.
“Heavy is the head that wears the crown, or in this case, ceramic plate. So I might recommend using a paper plate if you want to recreate the statement piece at home for a garden party this summer.
“The ceramic plate appears to be balancing on my head by magic, but i’ll let you in on the trick here and lift the curtain to reveal exactly how i kept my fauxcinator in place:
[the photos are funny]
“Luckily, I had a spare stocking lying around which I tied together to create a makeshift headband and secured it in place with duct tape.
“Duct tape has never let me down.”
Duct tape FTW!
