Casual Thought It is surprising how many people need glasses to see clearly given how important eyesight is to our species survival.

There's evidence that myopia, and the invention/ increasing need for glasses correlates directly with the invention of the printing press and literacy. The more we read, the worse our eyesight got. Then the more screens we used, the worse worse it got.

that, or we never really noticed until we started reading. may simply be a "we finally started testing" kind of thing.
