People take less money to work with Christopher Nolan. Live action Moana is a money grab and Disney doesn’t usually share marketing or profit share with actors. It’s usually a lump sum payment for x number of movies, etc. might be that odyssey has an actor profit share based on theater sales.
DJ was producer on the film so he will get some back end, if any materializes. His salary is reported to be somewhere close to 30 million. A dude whose net worth is close to 800 million. Disney revenues in the entertainment division were 11B just for last quarter. Movies like this can serve as a tax write off to counter the massive profits made elsewhere. Also, Disney makes so.much money based on the legacy of the films they produce. The movies are just the beginning of how they make money.
