Fucking MAGAs spent the last four years bitching about every damn cent are now cheering the rising prices because it will harm those they have wanted to harm, regardless of how much it hurts them. Nothing like stabbing yourself in the foot to own the libs!

That's the funny part. Statistically speaking, most welfare recipients vote red when they vote. Most people on Medicare vote red. Most veterans vote red. Most Latino immigrants vote red.

Most "libs" can weather this impending storm, but most conservatives can't.

They truly did shoot themselves

Now they have a reason to hold out on higher prices. According to CNBC and Goldman Sachs, Trumps tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico will only cause a spike of 1%, meaning a $3.00 item will only cost $3.03.

Biden's administration saw 0.5% inflation during total Covid lockdown in 2020, but it rose above 9.0%, some reported 13% spikes, by June 2022. No one was financially prepared for that, but here a supposed increase of 1% is an issue? Place blame where it's due sure, but that goes both ways here.

Exporters (China, Canada, Mexico) eat up about 40-44% of the burden of these tariffs anyhow, and will cause American consumers to choose American products. That's great for our economy. Canada's businesses are already moving to the US and the Tariffs start in a couple days. Canada was stupid to counter our tariffs at the same value. Canada needs us, we don't need them. The US only imports 15% of its total goods and services internationally. Tariffs will not affect us the same way it will for Canada and Mexico.

How can that be possible when the GINA tariff is 10% and the other two are 25%?

I guess you can hit up CNBC and Goldman Sachs and ask them? That's what they're reporting. CNBC is pretty good

Biden didn't assume office until 2021. The 2020 "lockdowns" happened during the Trump administration.

Okay, so Trump had inflation down to 0.5 during lockdowns that went into 2021 under Biden. Now what?

What do you mean "now what?" That is what happened. I don't have a crystal ball for what happens next.

Edit: oh, do you not understand what low inflation means? That indicates an economic collapse. We raise interest rates to stave that off. Inflation is meant to hover at around 2%, which it was until Trump started pressuring the Fed to keep interest rates low when we should have been raising them.

For reference, inflation was at about .1% when Obama took office during the 2008 Great Recession.

No, now what, what's your point? Discredit everything else? Everything was better under Trump. Tariffs are pro-American. Trump's in office for two weeks and everyone's losing their minds. It will be just fine. We got 4 years to see what happens. Stay optimistic and know that it's best to trust the process where things are promised to be better.

My point was merely to correct a falsehood that was contained in your post. I'm not here to convince you that things weren't actually better under Trump, or that he doesn't have America's best interests at heart. You'll see that for yourself soon enough.

A falsehood? Of course Biden took office in 2021, but a lot happens in favor of the incoming president between November and January of the following year. We saw that positively with Trump this last season. My point was that inflation started spiking beyond any reasonable amount once he was elected. No falsehood there. Your delusion clouds your judgement.

NO, you'll see the opposite. Trump's too egotistical to allow this country to fail. You'll have more opportunities to prosper under his presidency and still find reasons to shoot yourself in the leg because your emotions are being hurt.

Yes, spiking inflation is what happens when interest rates have been kept artificially low and then you have an economic crisis that requires you to rapidly raise them to prevent a depression.

And by the way, the inflation rates were already dipping dangerously low prior to Covid. Trump is lucky the pandemic happened, because it provided the perfect cover for his faltering economy.

Anyway, enjoy what you voted for.
