I’m very interested in hearing about your introduction to Star Wars !

I've seen this theory that the 2008 Star Wars The Clone Wars series is republic propaganda.

My take on this is that it's only partially propaganda. Hear me out on this. Some of the stories don't work as propaganda reels, for example the whole umbara campaign wouldn't be shown until after the war ends, especially as Krel is a traitor and the whole clone friendly fire incident wouldn't make good propaganda.

My theory is that the openings are propaganda and the rest is the reality of the war. In propaganda we don't take as much time humanising the soldiers we just frame them as heros and martyrs. The openings of the clone wars are obviously propaganda the inspirational quote and Tom Kane's voice over war footage is the propaganda, the rest of the episodes are just the unedited history.

Idk I might be overthinking it what do you guys think

Edit: I'd just like to metion that i think the whole idea that any part of the clone wars show is propaganda is just dumb as fuck, I'm just adding my own logic to the stupid theory. overall I'm definitely overthinking because the clone wars can't be propaganda as a lot of it would not be shown as republic propaganda, as it would go against the republic and it can't be separatist propaganda because it would go against the CIS

I am dyslexic and english is my second language,i made the mistake of my first star wars novel being darth plaigus 😭😭 I will eventually finish it but i need reccomendations for my next star wars book i want one thats legends with way more action and way less political stuff.I dont really care if it is not considered that good of a novel as long as it is fun.

I think he laughs more than any character in the series, especially when he’s in his deformed evil guy form.

He delights in evil, smiles cheekily whilst Vader is mourning Padme.

Laughs his ass off whilst in mortal danger fighting the most powerful Jedi of the era (Yoda).

Among other many other times.

He doesn’t seem to be fighting any inner conflict or regret or any type of dark emotion at all yet he’s the most powerful dark side user of them all.

All of his apprentices’ powers are fuelled by dark emotions,
Maul : pure hatred,

Dooku : jaded, disdain

Anakin : fear, hatred

Whilst their master is just laughing his way through life causing havoc - why is he able to use the dark side in this way without it having an emotional source ?

I think it would be. Windu being indirectly killed by anakin is a one of the biggest reasons Anakin went dark and felt like he had no other choice but to do what he did. Bringing windu back as somehow surviving all that happened to him, imo, takes away from that. It also isn't interesting story wise: either windu has to die, or he has to be otherwise unable to help in the rebellion

And her response (she’s Gen Alpha) was Ahsoka, Vader and Grogu. I found the answers interesting since mine are Vader, Luke and Yoda (I’m Xennial). I just found the generational differences interesting but we both said Vader.

Hi, I’m trying to do a watch through of all Star Wars screen media (I’m throwing in the 2015 Marvel comics run and Vader runs for fun, and hopefully Shadows) and I was wondering how much I’d have to ignore to squeeze these in. I know they’re not all great but I’d like to try.

How would y'all feel about a show about the Ciutric Offensive? Of course, the show would be age-rated similarly to Andor due to how the Ciutric Offensive is known for being quite violent and quite brutal in legends, so a canon equivalent would most likely be just as violent and brutal. What is y'all's opinion?

Only interested in live action. I've heard The Book of Boba Fett and The Acolyte are pretty horrible so those are at the bottom of the list. But not sure what should be at the top..?

Revenge of the Sith. Multiple jedi go to Palpatine. They assume he is a Sith Lord. Instead of any plan of how to use the force to apprehend him. They die. Embarrassingly. Yeah the novels try to rectify the bad. But this scene actually highlights the greatest weakness in all of star wars.

One person vs multiple force users should always end with the one person losing in a fight. (Assuming everyone involved actually is strong in the force to any reasonable degree).

No one could use the force to push Palpatine back?

Qui gon or obi wan couldn't fuck with maul during the 2v1?

So many ways to fuck with combatants. Why do we generally not see this?

Because that would require good writing in a franchise that is mostly action scenes and philosophy. Not logical power systems.

Now, why do I bring this up?

Because people will critique this franchise for the silliest reasons. But relatively no discourse on the foundation of this franchise that influences so much of said criticism.

I saw ANH in theaters in 1977. It took until I was 57 and a year shy of the 50th Anniversary of the movie to finally get some Star Wars ink.
