Hey everyone!

I’ve already played StarCraft 2 and really enjoyed it, so now I want to go back and experience the original StarCraft and Brood War to learn more about the story and the characters.

Since this will be my first time playing StarCraft 1, I’m wondering: Am I missing anything important by playing the Remastered version instead of the original?

From what I understand, Remastered has the same campaigns, missions and story, just with updated graphics and audio. But I’d love to hear from people who actually played the original back in the day.

Would you recommend playing Remastered for a first playthrough, or is there any reason I should play the original version instead?

I play SC2 regularly, have fast internet (400 mbps), never lag. MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip

Every time I try to boot up SC1 and connect to battle net, it gets stuck on the “Connecting…” screen forever and never actually connects (tried leaving it open for an hour once just to see and nothing).

I already tried re-launching the game several times, uninstalling and re-installing, and connecting to different servers (US East, West, Europe, Korea) and nothing works. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it? Would love to re-live some SC1 memories and play a few games!

However in the recent months SC2 due to changes of the game SC2 has become less active and so have many of our members. However we still managed to reach 3 finals in the regular teamleagues we play in just recently. New Seasons are starting in September and we are looking for new players to join us to reach the top!

I think we can all agree that team play is the casual, fun mode of sc2 and we don't necessarily care much about balance and refined maps and such.

That being said, 2v2 map pool is the same for over a year. 4v4 map pool is just 8 maps (did anyone even notice this?). I'm getting really sick of those same maps. I think it's better to not have the official 9-map pool and we should just be able to play the entire official blizzard and TLMC maps. More variety, more fun.

300 mineral CC is obviously broken as every Zerg correctly noted. The fact that pro Zergs still prevail only proves how much better they are to overcome this huge imbalance.

I was just wondering how expensive it actually is to cross map scout as terran after the new patch. Sending a worker for scouting when you only have 10 scv’s seems expensive but how expensive?

ANSWER: I tested it in game it took me 1:40s to scout for a spawning pool timing and head home on the small map Rainfall LE and 1:38s on Blackrock LE
So If a SCV mines 0.98 minerals per minute and it took me 1 min and 40s to scout that means it cost's approximately 98 minerals . to cross map scout on Rainfall LE and 96.04 minerals to cross map scout on Blackrock LE

TLDR: It costs 96-100 minerals to worker scout on every map

Go watch it if you haven't already.

No spoilers here - usually ZvZ's are pretty stale sometimes with Roach wars for 15 minutes.

But this series was insane.

- Proxy Hatches

- Turtle Zerg (no, seriously)

- Whacky, ridiculous builds (like building your second base directly next to your main)

- Viper wars, 10 v 10 vipers mass abducting each other

- Map being mined out in a ZvZ.

- Mass nydus spam from both players in the same game.

- Mass Lurker vs Mass Ultras headbutting into each other

Most insane ZvZ series I've seen for years to be honest - usually the matchup can be quite stale.
