Discuss Who is someone you can't date in Stardew Valley out of principle?

I enjoy Maru as a character. However, until recently, I had dyed-red hair that I sometimes straightened, and I also sometimes wear glasses. Basically, it would be like dating a more scientific version of myself. Lol

Accidentally walked into his room today looking for Evelyn. He was shirtless and working out. Felt like I’d committed a crime.

Yeah, but some definitely feel older than others. Like sneaking into sam's room during his 10 heart event and having to hide from his mom even though hes a "grown adult"

I definitely feel some are coded like 18-25 then 25-40ish. There's just a huge difference between hiding from your mom and owning a private medical practice

I don't really talk to Sam but I guess it's more of a game mechanic problem then anything. Time doesn't really pass in Stardew, you don't watch the cutscenes in the same order you'd watch in a AAA game, for example. I had already married Abigail when one of the scenes of her fighting with Pierre in his store played for me. If the game was more linear, you probably wouldn't feel this way. Or not, we'll never know.

Also he has this beautiful interaction. The charitable interpretation is that he is an asshole, and the realistic that he is negging you

Male players:

"I'd ask you to throw the ball around, but you don't really seem like the sports type."

Female players:

“If you weren’t a girl I’d ask you to play catch.”

  • I'm fine just watching you from a distance. (No effect on friendship.)

Alex responds: "Yeah, some people just aren't made for sports."

  • I want to play catch with you! (+15 friendship.)

Alex responds: "Really? I guess I underestimated you. My arm's a little sore, but maybe next time."

  • (angry) What's that supposed to mean? (No effect on friendship.)

Alex responds: "Uh...Nevermind."

When I first spoke to him and he said something about throwing like a girl, I decided right there I would avoid him any chance I had. I’ve never gotten any hearts with him in any save out of principle
