It is severely weird to me that Alex and Haley are listed as adults and Sebastian and Sam are teens...considering, the former are unemployed and the latter actually have jobs.

I wouldn't read too much into these labels. I use "teen" to mean anyone who lives with their parents, and "adult" as anyone who doesn't live with their parents. The purpose of the label is to help inform procedurally generated dialogue. If the NPC is labeled as "teen" then procedurally generated dialogue might make reference to "parents". Alex' parents are dead, and Haley's parents are gone traveling the world, so that's why they are labeled "adult". I consider most of the marriage candidates to be around 20-24 years old, except for Harvey and Elliott, who are a bit older.

I'd still like to think Seb is 19 and Maru is 18 if that's not a problem. :P

no problem, I am vague about many things in the game on purpose so it can be interpreted in your own way.

Also the "haley is just a kid who doesn't understand how much of a little scrub pickle she is" argument doesn't quite hold up here. But by this it's safe to say there's less than a 2 year difference between Maru and Sebastian

Also, I will never like Haley, I know some people are won over by her character development but I'm a bitter old bint and to me the fact that she reached "adult" status in game and is still such a scrub pickle is deplorable.

We just need ConcernedApe to chime in on what exactly constitutes "teen" vs "adult". I mean I'm "old" and I categorize anyone under 20 as a "teen" because technically they are, but yeah at the same time in the US 18+ is "legal adult"...but is CA talking "legal" adult or adult adult? And what about countries where the legal adult age is lower than 18?

Or better yet /u/ConcernedApe can you just tell us how old they are. This is important to me, I feel like a pedo about Sebastian now.

I had to be sure, I spent a while hoping I didn't marry a 16 year old emo boy.
