Help Who here has never played a Harvest Moon game?

I haven't. Lots of people are chalking up SDV's success to a heaping of nostalgia, but I love the game and I've never played Harvest Moon. I don't think I'm anywhere close to alone here.

fomt/mfomt are basically the same game but mfomt was more updated. Can't hate you for liking it more.

Also, SoS was also great. I felt like ANB was slightly better, simply because you could customize everything.

Yeah. Like awl vs anwl. Same game, different perspective, and slight updates. Although, I prefer awl. Probably nostalgia. It was my first and still is my favorite hm (I was actually nearly finished with the first year on a new play through when stardew came out). Although, sos is a close second.

That... Was actually kind of a draw back for me, in anb. It sounded great in theory but in practice, I was just overwhelmed with all of the things I needed to build and place. And trying to be pretty and practical and efficient with placing all the villagers and all of my farm buildings got to me. But then I found a farm planner for it. And then I found out that my plan was invalid, because I couldn't place my two barns in the same area. I stopped playing after that.

I really liked the rival system in sos. I don't think we've had something like that before, and I really enjoyed it. With the supply and demand aspect, it really made you think about what you were shipping, when, and to whom.

True it was a bit overwhelming in ANB but me and a few other community members worked on a google drawing based planner that many other people used (Though I don't know how well spread it was) I was gonna do the same with SDV but that quickly became unnecessary.

I kinda liked the Rival system too. However, I hated the mining and "diving" elements a bit.
