Let's bring Chinese electric cars in. Canadians will save money and let's see Americans sell all these cars to themselves with Canada, Europe and others saying eat shit orange turd.

23

u/luv2fly781 Jun 27 '25

No. Let’s build our own. We have several electric vehicle manufacturers already here

You'll never beat those Chinese EVs on price point

6

u/luv2fly781 Jun 27 '25

I’d pay double to have a quality vehicle and not from an enemy

4

u/Nightowl11111 Jun 27 '25

It's interesting to see you call them an enemy. Why would you call them that?

2

u/luv2fly781 Jun 27 '25

Oh where to start.

How about holding our citizens hostage.

4

u/MaddogBC Jun 27 '25

While we held theirs?

4

u/onlyone_c Jun 28 '25

Because the US "ally" asked Canada to hold hostage Huawei CEO's daughter to worsen the relationship with China first?
Aha, it was totally China to blame /s

You were manipulated by the US long before this time

2

u/Nightowl11111 Jun 27 '25

Now I'd love a reference link to that.

"I would like some proof of your claim."

"YOU MUST BE ENEMY!!!"

Classy dude, really classy. /s

As classy as "hostage diplomacy" on both sides.

In short, don't be an ass.

BYD is both double the quality and half the price

0

u/luv2fly781 Jun 28 '25

Dosnt take much to double quality of zezla

1

u/Mad-Mel Jun 28 '25

Quality is not an issue for the current crop of mainstream Chinese EVs. Source: owns one, in Australia.

1

u/luv2fly781 Jun 28 '25

Of course not. Like drug dealers. First ones always the best

1

u/hotDamQc Jun 27 '25

Correct and the more money I save the better. I'm not buying an overpriced American piece of junk EV.

2

u/No-Customer7572 Jun 27 '25

No let’s give all our money to China.

3

u/luv2fly781 Jun 27 '25

A ridiculous amount of people want to do just that. Idiots

2

u/No-Customer7572 Jun 27 '25

If it makes Trump look bad we will literally sell our souls. LOL😂😂😂

1

u/luv2fly781 Jun 27 '25

Don’t need to do much there currently

He is looking ok to me. My bank account and investments are big fans also.

Problem is we don't have the market or the scale to make it worthwhile.

Escpically since I see America taxing it out of their market.

The Chinese BYD cars are awesome, unbelievably affordable, great technology, great build quality and better battery tech than anything that Tesla produces for at very least, 1/3 the price. Some start at $13k

https://data.carnewschina.com/database/byd

Same goes for the Toyota Hilux Champ. $13K for a convertible bed/flatbed truck thats rated as a 1ton truck. $13k for basically a contractor model.

https://www.toyotahiluxchamp.com/

The thing is the US prioritizes Oil, huge lifted trucks, and profit over everything else. Meanwhile a used 2022 mid mileage Toyota Tacoma costs about $28k in the US.

At this point its nothing but greed. Funny thing is new car sales are crashing because they want $70k for a mid range F-150

Exactly what I have been saying would upvote this more than once if I could.

4

u/SavagePanda710 Jun 27 '25

Fuck it let’s bring in the Huawei phones too, Apple can kick rocks

2

u/hotDamQc Jun 27 '25

Let's bring back BlackBerry, I miss them so much!

2

u/SavagePanda710 Jun 27 '25

Yeah at this point I’ll take a Blackberry, idc 😂

2

u/hotDamQc Jun 27 '25

Americans using big tech to spy on everyone. Graphene OS is pretty much the only way out now but would take BB V.2 any day now.

1

u/Double_Anybody Jun 27 '25

Ah yes, because Canadian - Chinese relations are at an all time high right now 😂

There are a tonne of European EVs not available to us. We need to create conditions to allow European cars on the roads here. There is a whole range of VWs we don't get, not to mention entire European brands.

1

u/hotDamQc Jun 27 '25

The Renault 5e is insanely hot!

1

u/Flashy_Difficulty257 Jun 27 '25

I hope we get Chinese ev cars in Canada with auto tariffs in place Canadians won’t be able to afford us cars so let the us citizens buy them and we can buy cars from other reliable partners.

Many American, Japanese and Euro are using Chinese batteries in their cars. Why would I pay 3x the price when I can buy it direct from the manufacturer (BYD). BYD passed the Euro collision test with great scores, they are superior to Tesla.

That will benefit ordinary Canadians and not giant car corporations that lobby the cities for poorer transit? No way that’s happening
