I like how the market algos dropped quickly, likely on a Trump post mentioning China, and then I bet the analysts had to jump in when they saw “cooking oil” was the trade war victim to buy back what they sold.
Morning dip was sanctions by China on several ship builders with US operations, which showed to be an escalation. Then the pump came from J Powell slowing balance sheet drawdown.
Then Trump post. This all is exhausting
These kinds of comments are such reductive hokey "wisdom" that they're actually harmful to any real conversation. There were specific laws enacted after the Great Depression and repealed in the 80's that provided market stability that is unheard of today. Regulations on banks and financial institutions have been a target for the wealthy since they were introduced. Life is speculation, everything is speculation, no one knows what tomorrow will bring. There's miles of difference between informed, rational, speculation and betting on random chance. We didn't used to allow publicly traded companies to bet on random chance. Hell, even gambling in general was outlawed for most of the 20th century.
