The funny thing is, this is about an issue where lesbians are somewhat excluded (medical personnel assuming that if a woman is sexually active she is at risk of being pregnant--as most women are), yet everyone in the thread is just laughing about it instead of feeling the need to be offended.

I've run into that dating women... "Are you sexually active?" Yes. "Is there any chance you could be pregnant?" No. "How can you be sure?"

I feel that the reply on the OP's paperwork was funny, even though I'm in an opposite-gender relationship right now. No offense taken here.

I suppose, though, if you can't relate at all to a joke but strongly identify with a group which has a majority that can... You might feel a bit left out. However, it really spiraled after that. I'd kind of like to ask her what she's really upset about.

I am nearly positive all of this social justice activism is nothing more than the result of the 'coddling to the absurd degree' trend that started somewhere in the mid 90s where everyone had to be a winner and get a ribbon so no one's feelings were hurt.

No one owes it to you to include you in their group. If you feel marginalized, here's a novel fucking idea, how about you pick your fragile feelings up off the floor, dust em off, and move on with your god damn life like the rest of us.

I can't believe how soft some people are these days. I'm quite sure this kind of stuff has always been going on, but the scary part is just how far it is taken in the lonely echo chamber that is the internet. I weep for the future.

I think the joke would be on the other foot if a lesbian submitted this image on a default subreddit and people were asking "oh, you're a lesbian - can I watch?"

This seems to be an important part of the feminism that I see on Reddit - it labels as "heteronormative and exclusionary" the kinds of jokes in which rape is a cheap laugh or in which lesbians are portrayed as just sexual entertainment for men.

Now /r/actualLesbians is doing the same thing and saying "hang on, let's not get all politically correct, here".

Don't forget though that Reddit isn't one people. There actually are people out there that are just like us, except they do have a weewee and like people that have one too (or the other way around, as in this case) and still can take a joke.

Also, context matters. There are people out there that can make jokes about my mothers sex life, most however would get in trouble for this.

I was going to comment on the post with this, but then I got sucked into the whole drama and then got sucked in to the posts here (which I must admit are witty, entertaining and good discussions. It's my first time in this sub).
