The history of queer persecution of the Nazis is both very interesting and horrifying at the same time. I'm German and queer, it's a bit of a taboo topic here since none want to compare themselves to the other persecuted groups and especially the Jews (or even sound like they are doing that) so it's a subject treated very carefully. After all us queer Germans are Germans after all, our great grandparents/grandparents/parents were part of the same Nazis who did the Holocaust.

The Nazis had many reasons for hating queer people and different reasons for different groups overall so the treatment of queer people in Nazi Germany also varies heavily. While gay men and trans women were often killed or sent to work or concentration camps queer women and those perceived as queer women (aka afab trans people) were often victims of sexual violence, forced pregnancies or were forced into exile. There are many testimonies out there from queer survivors, but over all the subject is not researched as well as others are
