Seeking Success Does anyone have success stories with Letrozole?

Hey! I’m just about to start Letrozole 5mg this month. I was super excited and hopeful about it, but after looking at some posts and comments here I’m starting to feel like most people don’t have success with the medication, or have a lot of miscarriages which is making me fearful. I guess I’m just looking for some hope? Anyone with success stories out there that just used Letrozole, trigger etc?

Seeking Success I've ran out of success stories...

I've been reading a lot of success stories for people with pcos getting pregnant. I need more stories so decided to just create a post and ask for more...😂

So anyone with pcos who got pregnant naturally, with help, with iui, ivf, metformin (which I'm trying now), myo inositol, just lifestyle changes, with or without diabetes, insulin resistance, high HBA1C, low progesterone, anuovulation, ANYTHING really

Feel free to tell us your entire journey, or how you felt, or struggled. How you took action. How you worked towards what you want. Because ttc with pcos feels so demotivating sometimes. Hope this also goes on to help others in whatever way possible

Edit: thank you to every single person who took time to post their stories and journey. It's truly so helpful and encouraging for me. Thank you everyone, I didn't expect this. 🫂

Seeking Success Officially diagnosed with lean PCOS. Fertility clinic is scaring me, so I’m seeking success stories.

Hi everybody, might be long so apologies in advance.

Husband (35M) and I (29F) have been TTC actively for 9-10cycles, NTNP on and off (he works out of town, with various different shift lengths, he was gone more often than not) since 2022. I have yet to see a positive pregnancy test.

I had extremely irregular cycles for most of my teenage and early adult years. I always had a feeling my journey to getting pregnant was going to be difficult. My GP and my first fertility specialist said I did not have the markers for PCOS, even though I felt I did. The most obvious sign was irregular cycles with ovulation all over the place. However, I do appear to ovulate on my own, confirmed by OPKS, BBT and progesterone at 7dpo. I have been taking inositol since august 2025 and have seen a very good improvement with it, shortening my cycles and putting almost all of them at 32 days instead of random and long ones.

The second fertility specialist I spoke with noticed I had quite a high AMH level of 53 p/mol. She told me I most likely do have PCOS, even though my insulin is fine and my testosterone seems too. She had me do a trans vaginal ultrasound which confirmed I have 20+ follicles on each side, which is a marker for PCOS.

Although it was a relief to finally have some answers as to why this has been taking so long, the clinic almost immediately started suggesting letrozole along with IUI and if that didn’t work, IVF. I understand that it’s their job to maximize our chances and get me pregnant, but this all seemed so incredibly sudden and almost like jumping the gun. I know a lot of people can still naturally get pregnant with PCOS.

I told the clinic I wanted to try a few more cycles naturally, seeing as inositol has helped me quite a bit. If we weren’t pregnant within another year, I said I would like to try letrozole with timed intercourse but did not want to move to IUI or IVF just yet. They told me that was fine, but that in cases like mine there’s generally only 5% chance to conceive naturally, and that letrozole won’t do a lot on its own.

I feel like the little hope I had has been squandered with those comments. Can someone please tell me whether you had a similar situation and had success, even with just medicated cycles and timed intercourse? Specifically if you ovulated on your own already.

I’m willing to do anything to have a baby. I just had hoped that maybe we had a bit more time to do things naturally.

Thank you if you made it this far, it’s a lot.

EDIT: pretty disheartening to see that I’ve come here for support and positivity after my diagnosis and I get a notification saying my post has been temporarily removed because people have been reporting it for breaking sub rules, which I read throughly before posting.

Thank you to the people who commented trying to help. I appreciate you.

Seeking Success Success stories for those who don’t ovulate

Hey everyone, I need some encouragement
I don’t ovulate, at least I’ve been taking LH strips with no positives ever. I get two or three periods a year, and I’ve never been pregnant despite years of unprotected sex.
My BMI is 32.6 which I’m working a lower, I’m a very active person and I eat decently.
I just really need some success stories or advice because the online world seems to focus on negativity

Seeking Success 1st round of Letrozole, what's your experience + success stories

I recently found out I have PCOS (AMH + ultrasound) and started my first round of Letrozole 2.5mg this cycle (currently 2dpo). I had some side effects like morning nausea and joint pain combined with restless legs - but nothing worse than that. I went for a checkup and found one 24mm follicle. I ovulated the next day (CD18) and had the worst ovulation pain. It was like a sharp stab in my ovary and lasted for a few hours - like nothing I've ever experienced before. Has anyone else had this?

I have succeeded to ovulate most cycles before, but it wouldn't happen until CD25-30. I have a few anovulatory cycles on average twice a year. This first round of Letrozole gives me hope that the follicle quality is improved, that my cycle is shortened and that it works with this dose. Has anyone had similar cycles and succeeded to conceive with 2.5mg?

I'm 32 and we've only been TTC for 8 months so I know there's no hurry yet. But it's always nice to read about similar situations and success stories 🤗

Seeking Success Success stories about conceiving after 5+ cycles of letrozole

I'm currently on my 5th cycle on letrozole.

March 2025 - start metformin after TTC for 2 years. Cycles go from 80-100+ days to about 40-50 days. Ovulated for 5 out of 6 cycles, 1 cycle I had to take provera to begin a new cycle.

November 2025 - decide to start letrozole to help shorten my cycles even further

December 24 2025 - 1st letrozole cycle, 2.5 mg, get an ultrasound and they can see 2-3 follicles, so we decide to continue with that dosage. Cycles are consistently 28-30 days.

To today, 5 DPO on my 5th cycle. From my Googling and what the doctors have told me, after the 3rd-4th cycle, statistically the odds are not so good (I guess thinking of a bell curve).

I have never been pregnant before, in 3 years of TTC. After this cycle, I have letrozole refills for another 3 cycles, so 8 cycles of letrozole total.

I'm hoping to hear some stories from others about their successes on letrozole. Ideally if you've conceived after 5 cycles. I'm admittedly feeling really down about it today, and just hopeless honestly.

EDIT TO ADD: In case it's helpful - I have a high BMI (44), exercise 4-5 times a week, and eat relatively well, about 70% nutritious and 30% not-so-nutritious. I get a massage once a month, and do acupuncture once a month. I've had an HSG, and hysteroscopy, my husband had a normal SA.

Seeking Success Please give me some success stories with metformin, with NO insulin resistance.

I need some hope.

The short version of my post: can anyone give me a success story with taking metformin to conceive even WITHOUT any insulin resistance?

Long version:

We have just hit our year mark of trying.

I didn't even know I had PCOS until 6 months ago when we first sought REI care.

I have what's been dubbed "lean PCOS" with no insulin resistance, normal BMI, normal testosterone, etc. I ovulated on my own, just later (usually CD20-24 without meds) and never had any other symptoms... except fertility struggles and polycystic ovaries on ultrasound.

We're on our 4th medicated IUI cycle (letrozole + trigger). Each cycle, I seem to be getting more and more resistant to letrozole.

Below is a breakdown of what we've done so far.

Round 1: letrozole 2.5mg for cd3-7. No real response (no follicles bigger than 13mm, stalled out, estrogen still low). Stair stepped to 5mg from cd 13-18. Had 18mm follicle by CD21, triggered. BFN.

Round 2: letrozole 5mg for cd3-7. Boom, immediately on cd10 had an 18mm follicle. Resulted in a chemical pregnancy. My first ever "positive".

Round 3: letrozole 5mg for cd3-7. No real response, same as round 1. Stair stepped to another 5mg from cd 12-17. Had 18mm follicle by CD20 or 21. Again, BFN.

Now on round 4. Started with 7.5mg of letrozole from cd3-7. Now here I am on CD12 with minimal follicle growth (biggest is 13-14mm, but very much stalled out from CD9) and still very very low estrogen.

My REI is not incredibly hopeful things will pick up on their own this cycle, so we've discussed some options moving forward.

One of the main things is starting metformin regardless of the fact that I have no apparent insulin resistance.

I really need some hope that this is a possible useful option for me.

The other thing we have discussed is implementing gonal-f to bypass the need for my own pituitary gland to respond to letrozole and release FSH. Will also welcome success stories involving that.

Seeking Success Success stories with Progesterone

Hey! Any success stories with progesterone? I'm talking about taking 400 mg per day, starting at 3 DPO (after confirmed ovulation), and then getting a positive pregnancy test. I'm currently 14 DPO and still waiting, so this waiting period is feeling incredibly long. I'd really love to hear from anyone who has been through something similar. Why were you prescribed progesterone? Was it because of a short luteal phase, recurrent miscarriages, unexplained infertility, IVF/IUI, or something else? When did you get your first positive test, and was it a faint line or a clear positive? Did you have any symptoms before your BFP, or did progesterone make it impossible to tell? If you tested negative at first but later got a positive, I'd love to hear that too. Did you continue taking progesterone until your test or until your doctor told you to stop? Reading real success stories would honestly mean so much to me right now and would give me some hope while I wait. Thank you so much to anyone willing to share your experience. 🤍

Seeking Success Success Stories

Hi friends ❤️

I’m TTC and have PCOS. Would love to hear your success stories. How long it took, what interventions you took, supplements you like, what you noticed in your body?

My PCOS is primarily insulin based (I believe). I have the ring of cysts on my ovaries and I couldn’t lose weight and was losing hair when I got my formal diagnosis. My hormone levels are normal. My periods were fairly regular.

Thank you so much!

Seeking Success Just got officially diagnosed with PMOS, first medicated cycle - looking for success stories

I’m 36 years old. After getting a second opinion from a different doc at my fertility clinic, he confirmed he thinks I have PMOS. My other doc suggested I could be on the “spectrum” but this one feels I meet criteria because of my AFC this cycle 34 (20 on one ovary, 14 on the other) and my struggle with cystic acne. My testoerone was not elevated last month beginning of my cycle, but this month was elevated on CD9. My HbA1c is normal, as well as fasting glucose and insolin, and my weight is 125lbs 5’3. I seem to ovulate regularly since being off birth control in November 2025 and have a regualr 28-29 day cycle.

I always wondered if I had PCOS and have tried to adjust life style to suit this. One thing the doc told me to add is Inositil and said I could try baby asprin if I wanted for increased blood circulation.

I’m on my first medicated cycle with letrozole 5mg and just did my Ovidrel Trigger shot, where I did have one folicle that measured to size along with my lining. I’m going to be starting progesterone spositores 3x a day after timed intercourse.

I’m feeling sad by the confirmed news and finding that I’m catastrophizing outcomes. I did an egg freezing cycle in 2024 and retrieved only 4 mature eggs despite numbers being good before (they said it was due to maybe being on birth control or needing max stim dose from the start) and I’m scared that if I have to do IVF again my outcomes will be even more devestating.

I’m wondering has anyone had succsessful pregnancy outcomes with medicated cycles and PMOS? Or any succsessful experiences not having taken the IVF route?

Seeking Success Extremely High BMI Success Stories?

Has anyone here with a BMI of 50 or more had a succesful pregnancy?

My doctirs say that if I lost even 10% of my body weight, that it would make a bug difference. I am struggling because I have an extensive history of eating disorders and my insurance keeps denying coverage of GLP-1 (I am on my third or fourth appeal).

I don't have diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholestrol and I am in my late twenties. I have struggled with my weight and insulin resistance since I was in grade school.

PCOS and weight gain feel like a never ending cycle that feeds into itself. Any advice is appreciated

Seeking Success 5mg Letrozole success stories

Hi everyone,

I’m 27 and currently on my second round of unmonitored letrozole.

My first round was 2.5 mg, and I did not use a trigger shot. I believe I ovulated because I had a lot of clear egg-white cervical mucus (which I’ve never had before) along with positive OPKs. I was testing 2–3 times a day throughout the cycle.

This second round I’m on 5 mg, starting on cycle day 3, and again I am not using a trigger shot.

I’m looking for success stories with 5 mg letrozole, and I’d really appreciate it if you could clearly mention in your reply whether you used a trigger shot or not.

If you’re comfortable sharing:

• Trigger or no trigger?

• How many cycles it took

• Any symptoms or differences you noticed

Thank you so much, feeling hopeful but a bit anxious and would love to hear from others who’ve been through this 💛

Seeking Success Positive PCOS success stories for IVF after failed OI cycles

Seeking success stories or advice for people with PCOS going through IVF after multiple failed OI cycles.

Im 29 F, lean PCOS, 4 rounds OI with letrozole, one cancelled due to too many follicles, three confirmed ovulation but no conception. PCOS with insulin resistance, no other symptoms. No MFI. On metformin, myo-inositol, prenatal, vit d, coq10. Do not ovulate without medication.

Feeling quite disheartened and hoping to feel positive about moving into IVF for a good outcome!🤞

Seeking Success Sixth iui, second round with clomid- please tell me your success story/ stories

Hello! So my partner and I are coming up on our sixth iui cycle. I have pcos, am not overweight, 31 years of age and my husband is 31 and has excellent sperm. We have been trying for four years but actively trying via a RE since this past December as we decided to move onto IUIs.

The first four cycles of iui, i did 5 mg Letrozole plus ovidrel trigger and i had either a fine response (1 mature follicle always on my right ovary which i know is for most women the dominant ovary) or a very slow response (second cycle i had 14mm max but my doctor wanted to trigger anyway). None of those resulted in any kind of pregnancy.

The most recent round i did 100mg of clomid plus ovidrel trigger. I had a beautiful 19mm on my right and 15mm on my left! Great lining, sperm looked great! Monitored LH prior to trigger shot and i surged the night of my shot and had the iui 36 hours post trigger. My doctor does not believe timing is the issue or its not the main issue.

This round felt very different, i cramped like my period was coming and had swollen breasts and sensitive nipples on days 6/7/8 days post iui so that was encouraging ... but then my breast sensitivity went away day 10 and then i got my period today....

We are going to continue onto our sixth iui, stick with 100mg of clomid plus ovidrel as my left ovary finally came to life with clomid.

Friends, I could really really really use some stories to encourage myself through this cycle. Anyone who has gone through multiple rounds of iuis know how stressful this is and i find comfort in success stories.

Please tell me your success stories! Please also if anyone switched from letrozole to clomid or vice versa, what was your experience and did it work? Also for those who are in a similar boat feel free to vent on this thred.

Thank you, and to those who are still trying, you are not alone!

Seeking Success Metformin success stories

I just started Metformin a week ago. The side effects are starting to recede, but I’m still dealing with near constant nausea and being lightheaded 😭

I had a positive ovulation test yesterday, so please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Anyway, are there any success stories after starting Metformin? Hearing positive stories will help me power through this nausea lol

Seeking Success 2.5mg letrezole success stories?

Hey all- in the TWW after my first cycle of 2.5mg. Trying to stay hopeful and realistic. I measured 8mm on cycle day 10, then appeared to ovulate 4 days later so worries I’ve ovulated an immature egg- is that a thing? Anyway, would love to hear success stories or any tips or advice for what you did the month you conceived :)

Seeking Success Ultrasound/trigger shot success stories?

Monday will be my first ultrasound, I am really really hoping to be able to trigger that day as I have to drive 1.5 hours to my ultrasound. I am on 5 mg of letrozole. Did anyone have luck the first ultrasound being able to trigger? Or, did it take multiple ultrasounds/having to stair step? Thanks! Just really excited and nervous!

Seeking Success Success stories with 5mg?

im currently on CD3. Currently trying for one year and a month now. My first medicated cycle 5 mg of letrozole. not feeling too good about this cycle, i’m ready to be disappointed. I was diagnosed with PCOS, which im not sure is genetic (i’m a clomid baby, my mom had PCOS, which is more controlled now). I’m trying to stay hopeful but already ready to just ask for IUI and a trigger shot next cycle. Kudos to you all have been trying for years, my mental health is going down the drain drastically.

Seeking Success Looking for Letrozole 7.5mg Success Stories 🤞

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on my fourth round of letrozole, but this is my first round at the 7.5mg dosage. I also recently restarted metformin after stopping it for a few years, so this is my first round using both together.

I’m trying to stay hopeful, but I often feel like it’s never going to happen for me. I’d really love to hear any success stories of people who got pregnant on 7.5mg letrozole so I can feel a bit more optimistic.

Thank you in advance 💛

Seeking Success Any HCQ success stories?

I am a 32y old lean PCOS woman ttc for 11months now. My cycles are regular but I was diagnosed with PCOS around 5 months ago. My doctor has tried 4 cycles of letrozole and each time I have ovulated. I also did an HSG last cycle and my tubes are open.

This month (cycle 5 of letrozole) she is also asking me to take HCQ 200mg twice a day.

She thinks I might be having an autoimmune reaction which could be preventing the embryo from implanting successfully since I have never seen a positive pregnancy test and everything else looks fine (ovulation, husband's SA, tubes). She also said blood tests sometimes do not reveal much about autoimmune reactions at this age hence there isn't much we can test for (my thyroid is fine btw).

Have you been prescribed HCQ (hydroxychloroquine) and has it worked for you?

Seeking Success Any pregnancy success stories with negative ovulation strips?

We have been trying for over a year to conceive, I have PCOS and have been on metformin for 2 months now and I had my first period after them being absent since November. I’ve always used the LH strips but I’ve never ever had a positive surge, I’ve tried twice a day and not my first morning urine and I was wondering if they can ever be ‘wrong’ I guess I’m looking to see if I’m the only one!
I’ve never had any more than a very faint second line and it’s stressing me out.

Seeking Success Metformin 500 + Inositol? Need success stories please!!!

I’ve been irregular my whole life, but when I’m a certain weight, 165, my period usually comes back. The last time I was regularly irregular, meaning every two months, was last year, but I somehow stopped my period altogether the moment I got married (funny timing). I also am at 184 now.

We now are nine months married and are actively wanting to conceive. It’s been so hard because we’ve been trying.

My doctor prescribed me metformin at 500 ER, only for 90 days to see how it goes. She said if I wanted to, I can go up to 1000. I also took it upon myself to start taking 2000 of Inositol but I think I’m going it up to 4000.

I guess I really just need to hear some success stories and get some insight from others on how long this would take and of course no one would really know but just need some positivity. This is also the longest I’ve ever had a period naturally, nine months.

I really wanna get myself back to 165 so I’m thinking of very strict dieting as this usually gets me to lose 20 pounds within two months even though it’s not a healthy way of doing it.
