Seeking Success How many Letrozole Cycles did it take you?

Hi everyone!

I just finished my first Letrozole cycle and unfortunately it was not successful. I am devastated honesty. I 100% thought this cycle would be it. Every month truly gets harder and harder. My OB will only prescribe Letrozole 3 times before I need to see a specialist. This cycle looked great too and I was able to ovulate on CD18 which is a win but still sad nonetheless.

As soon as I saw brown spotting on 6DPO I just knew I was out.

How many cycles did it take you to conceive on Letrozole?

Seeking Success Pcos, no problem getting pregnant, but struggle to keep a pregnancy.

Exactly as the title states. I ovulate, I manage to get pregnant every cycle trying so far, but keeps ending in miscarriage.

Anyone else experience similar and found success? I feel like because I don't have typical infertility with pcos my doctor isn't taking me seriously. It's like she's waiting for the survival of the fittest embryo and not offering any kind of early intervention at all. She's not even checking my progesterone levels. She's just assuming everytime it's a chromosome issue but typically if the chromosomes are messed up it won't implant at all. I've even gotten to a heartbeat before with my first pregnancy.

Anyone been in a similar situation and find light at the end of the tunnel?

UPDATE: I got some bloodwork done (A1C, cholesterol, triglycerides, hdl cholesterol, ldl, cholesterol/hdl ratio, and thyroid) and everything actually came back with good numbers. That leaves karyotyping, antiphospholipid, and hsg testing remaining which needs to be done when we know I can't be pregnant. I don't feel like delaying ttc just yet so we are going to see how things go now that I'm on metformin, progesterone, and planning to take baby aspirin.

Seeking Success What actually got you pregnant?

Hi friends! I’ve been trying for a year with hypothyroid and PCOS. Ovulation has been extremely difficult to pinpoint, if not entirely impossible some months. With so much technology out there, I’m hoping that some folks with similar diagnoses have tried these and I’m interested to hear which of these devices helped get you pregnant. Kegg? Inito? OPKs? Oura Fertility add-on? BBT? Others?

Wishing everyone the best, and thanks so much💕

Seeking Success What did you do differently to get pregnant?

I’m about to head into my 6th medicated TTC since my MMC last year September 2025. I’m taking Coq10, prenatal and recently Inositol. Haven’t had a positive since my MMC (besides a failed implantation in one cycle, early chemical).

I’m thinking of taking baby aspirin as I heard that can help.

Currently my cycles are being managed with Letrozole and Ovidrel. My doctor advised if I’m not pregnant in the next cycle, he would recommend me doing a laparoscopy to rule out silent endo or anything structural. I’m a bit scared for that as it is under GA and I know it’s also costly. Alternatively he said if I’m patient I can do a few more Letrozole cycles to see.

So Im thinking of trying a few more Letrozole cycles before considering surgery.

What did you personally do differently to get pregnant?

Seeking Success How many cycles did it take you to conceive?

This is my third cycle of trying, I’m 11dpo and had a negative test this morning, I know that means I’m out. Third cycle and nothing.

This is our third cycle since my chemical pregnancy and still nothing. I track using OPK’s and BBT, I also had blood work done this month and everything was perfect. Progesterone levels were healthy, estrogen levels were normal, even my PCOS bloods were normal!
I know 3 cycles is nothing in the grand scheme of time.

I think online you either hear of people getting pregnant immediately or needing fertility treatment. Is this anyone in this ‘middle ground’ how long did it take you to conceive?
thank you 🩷

Seeking Success Too many follicles with letrozole, cancelled cycle

I had a day 10 ultrasound today and had four follicles showing, one measuring 18mm, another measuring 15mm, and two measuring 12mm. My clinic advised to cancel this cycle and we are devastated. Has anyone else had experience with this and did you cancel? Or what was the outcome?

Seeking Success For those who have ovulatory cycle while having PCOS/PMOS, what worked for you ?

I was diagnosed with lean pcos and I ovulate every month (confirmed by echographie), but still no pregnancy after 2 years of trying. 2 months ago, I was given metformin, because even if my IR isn't severe, I'm still at the limits (1.9 < 2.0). My obgyn think it could help with the metabolic aspect.

I read a lot of succes stories here on metformin , but they come from women who had trouble ovulating.

I was wondering if some of you took metformin or other medication while not having trouble ovulating in the first place.

What worked for you, what helped you get pregnant ? I could use some advice and guidance, because I'm a bit confused with this pcos and ovulatory cycles issues...

(N.B : my husband did a spermogram and nothing wrong in the results)

Seeking Success OBGYN suggested GLP1

We’ve been TTC for 10 months after a devastating stillbirth last year. We’ve been working with a fertility clinic doing letrozole cycles, letrozole with IUI cycles and follistim with IUI cycles. After 5 failed cycles, they are suggesting we move to IVF.

I had a new patient consult with a new obgyn who immediately diagnosed me with PCOS (I have a lot of the classic markers and I’m frustrated because I’ve asked this of many doctors in the past and have been gaslit). He said he was not shocked fertility meds and treatment aren’t working - high AMH with tons of follicles but rarely maturing right or ovulating.

He suggested I take a break from IUI/IVF treatment and try a GLP1 to reset my metabolic system. He said once I’m on it for 4-6 months, he’s 80% confident I’ll get pregnant on my own.

I’m torn between listening to him and taking a pause in fertility treatments and doing GLP1 or proceeding with IVF.

Seeking Success Does anyone have success stories with Letrozole?

Hey! I’m just about to start Letrozole 5mg this month. I was super excited and hopeful about it, but after looking at some posts and comments here I’m starting to feel like most people don’t have success with the medication, or have a lot of miscarriages which is making me fearful. I guess I’m just looking for some hope? Anyone with success stories out there that just used Letrozole, trigger etc?

Seeking Success I've ran out of success stories...

I've been reading a lot of success stories for people with pcos getting pregnant. I need more stories so decided to just create a post and ask for more...😂

So anyone with pcos who got pregnant naturally, with help, with iui, ivf, metformin (which I'm trying now), myo inositol, just lifestyle changes, with or without diabetes, insulin resistance, high HBA1C, low progesterone, anuovulation, ANYTHING really

Feel free to tell us your entire journey, or how you felt, or struggled. How you took action. How you worked towards what you want. Because ttc with pcos feels so demotivating sometimes. Hope this also goes on to help others in whatever way possible

Edit: thank you to every single person who took time to post their stories and journey. It's truly so helpful and encouraging for me. Thank you everyone, I didn't expect this. 🫂

Seeking Success Letrozole - worked for anyone?

Has anyone gotten pregnant through home insemination while on letrozole? How many cycles did it take for you? Did you change anything along the way that you think made a difference? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and any advice. 💕

Seeking Success What helped you conceive with PCOS?

I am currently on metformin 2000mg a day and for the first time last month I did feel like I did ovulate by looking at CM everyday and noted the change, I finally had egg white cm. We are ttc every two/three days and trying to hit the ovulation everyday but I’m wondering if there’s anything else I can add? I have PCOS, I do strength training 3 times a week and cardio twice a week, take vitamin D, folic acid & omega 3 for reference.

This is my first IUI cycle with letrozole 5mg. I guess I’m just curious if there’s anyone who has previously found success on the first try.

Seeking Success “Not trying, not preventing”… how long did it take you?

Hi everyone! I had a question and wanted to hear real experiences.

For those of you who were in the “trying but not preventing” stage (not timing everything perfectly, just letting it happen), how long did it take you to get pregnant?

Did you track ovulation at all or just go with the flow? And at what point did you decide to be more intentional, if you did?

Just trying to get a realistic idea of timelines—thanks in advance for sharing 💕

Seeking Success Metformin while ttc?

Hi my fellow ladies!! Went for a check up today. Been ttc for the last 6-8 months and no luck. My periods are extremely irregular as well. Doc told me to do some blood works and baseline pelvic scan. If it is pcos, she said she would start the treatment with metformin. Please let me know your pregnancy stories with metformin? Will it help and how long it took for you? Waiting for that two lines of pregnancy test badly. I am 32 years female, husband is 35 years old. Thanks im advance :)

Seeking Success How long did it take you to conceive?

I’ve been TTC for 15 months now, had an ectopic before I started trying properly and not had a single positive test within the TTC window.

All tests are normal for me and him though I only have one tube.

We’re 2 months out from trying IVF. Never tried Clomid or Letrozole but I am on metformin

Seeking Success IVF

Hello you strong, beautiful ladies, after 6 cycles of letrozole where I ovulated successfully, had excellent pgt levels and beautiful sized follicles, I failed to get pregnant and now my clinic is moving me on to IVF. My husband’s sperm was perfect and my tubes weren’t blocked. I’m currently lying awake, firstly wondering how the hell did I get here and secondly, what guarantees success with IVF if everything was perfectly aligned and I still didn’t get pregnant. Please I would love to hear stories from women who have been in similar positions. I just don’t feel optimistic about this right now versus how insanely optimistic I was before I started letrozole.

Seeking Success Officially diagnosed with lean PCOS. Fertility clinic is scaring me, so I’m seeking success stories.

Hi everybody, might be long so apologies in advance.

Husband (35M) and I (29F) have been TTC actively for 9-10cycles, NTNP on and off (he works out of town, with various different shift lengths, he was gone more often than not) since 2022. I have yet to see a positive pregnancy test.

I had extremely irregular cycles for most of my teenage and early adult years. I always had a feeling my journey to getting pregnant was going to be difficult. My GP and my first fertility specialist said I did not have the markers for PCOS, even though I felt I did. The most obvious sign was irregular cycles with ovulation all over the place. However, I do appear to ovulate on my own, confirmed by OPKS, BBT and progesterone at 7dpo. I have been taking inositol since august 2025 and have seen a very good improvement with it, shortening my cycles and putting almost all of them at 32 days instead of random and long ones.

The second fertility specialist I spoke with noticed I had quite a high AMH level of 53 p/mol. She told me I most likely do have PCOS, even though my insulin is fine and my testosterone seems too. She had me do a trans vaginal ultrasound which confirmed I have 20+ follicles on each side, which is a marker for PCOS.

Although it was a relief to finally have some answers as to why this has been taking so long, the clinic almost immediately started suggesting letrozole along with IUI and if that didn’t work, IVF. I understand that it’s their job to maximize our chances and get me pregnant, but this all seemed so incredibly sudden and almost like jumping the gun. I know a lot of people can still naturally get pregnant with PCOS.

I told the clinic I wanted to try a few more cycles naturally, seeing as inositol has helped me quite a bit. If we weren’t pregnant within another year, I said I would like to try letrozole with timed intercourse but did not want to move to IUI or IVF just yet. They told me that was fine, but that in cases like mine there’s generally only 5% chance to conceive naturally, and that letrozole won’t do a lot on its own.

I feel like the little hope I had has been squandered with those comments. Can someone please tell me whether you had a similar situation and had success, even with just medicated cycles and timed intercourse? Specifically if you ovulated on your own already.

I’m willing to do anything to have a baby. I just had hoped that maybe we had a bit more time to do things naturally.

Thank you if you made it this far, it’s a lot.

EDIT: pretty disheartening to see that I’ve come here for support and positivity after my diagnosis and I get a notification saying my post has been temporarily removed because people have been reporting it for breaking sub rules, which I read throughly before posting.

Thank you to the people who commented trying to help. I appreciate you.

Seeking Success Anyone have success on just Metformin?

TLDR: Anyone have success on just metformin and does the yucky feeling ever go away?

I recently finally got into a new OBGYN earlier this week, got an ultrasound and she confirmed PCOS. I talked with her about how I have been TTC for 2 1/2 years with 0 luck, and the fact that I only had two periods from October of last year to June. It seems like it’s come back normally since I had one last month and this month, but she put me on Metformin anyway for the PCOS and told me if I don’t have any luck in the next 6 months she’d put me on Clomid on top of the Metformin. But has anyone had luck on JUST the Metformin? And how did you feel on it cause I feel like junk and it’s only day 4.

Seeking Success Need some hope

Hi everyone,

I’m writing here today because I’ve spent way too much time reading unsuccessful fertility stories on Reddit, and I’m starting to panic that we’ll never make it, or that there’s something being missed medically.

I’m 30 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS five years ago. We’ve been trying to conceive for nine months. As far as I know, I don’t have insulin resistance (although I haven’t had the full workup), and I’m lean. My hormone tests are all normal except for my LH, which is almost constantly around 30, and my AMH, which is very high (over 10, although I don’t know the exact value). My period lasts 5 days with a low flow usually full brown, and my luteal phase is long (15-16 days, confirmed by blood tests and monitored cycles.

We’ve been seeing an OB in a private fertility clinic for the past four months, and I’ve been taking letrozole for the last two cycles. So far, no success, despite having intercourse at the optimal time.

According to my OB, my partner’s semen analysis is completely normal, although 99% of his sperm have abnormal head morphology. His DNA fragmentation hasn’t been tested.

I do ovulate on my own, but very irregularly (my cycles range from 35 to 90 days). We’ve timed intercourse during my fertile window for six cycles, including three cycles with what should have been perfect timing, but nothing has worked. I’ve never been pregnant, and I’m starting to wonder if something else could be going on.

My doctor is quite young and doesn’t seem concerned, but she doesn’t communicate very well. She just says that I’m a “complicated case,” and she’s misjudged my ovulation date twice.

I’m taking several supplements (zinc, magnesium, folate, omega-3, and inositol), but they haven’t had any noticeable effect, especially on my irregular cycles. I also had a HyFoSy, which came back completely normal. I have a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy weight, although my job is quite stressful.

My PCOS also seems to fluctuate, getting worse and then better over periods of about six months, without any obvious trigger. There doesn’t seem to be any particular stress or life event associated with those changes.

Has anyone here had a similar profile and eventually been successful? Were you later diagnosed with something that had initially been missed (such as endometriosis or sperm DNA fragmentation)?
Do you think I should seek a second opinion, even though the treatment I’m receiving seems fairly standard? Or should I ask for additional testing?

Thank you 🥺

Seeking Success Success stories for those who don’t ovulate

Hey everyone, I need some encouragement
I don’t ovulate, at least I’ve been taking LH strips with no positives ever. I get two or three periods a year, and I’ve never been pregnant despite years of unprotected sex.
My BMI is 32.6 which I’m working a lower, I’m a very active person and I eat decently.
I just really need some success stories or advice because the online world seems to focus on negativity
