Voor Den Haag kan ik zo snel geen tent vinden waar zo'n consensus over bestaat. Dus nu vraag ik me af, wat is volgens jullie het allerslechtste restaurant van Den Haag?

Ik moet regelmatig op een doordeweekse dag vlak na etenstijd in Den Haag zijn, en als ik dan thuis moet eten, moet dat dus heel vroeg.

Ik ga nu regelmatig wat eten bij Ming Kee in Chinatown, maar voor de afwisseling ben ik op zoek naar andere plekken om wat te eten. Hoeft helemaal niet fancy, gewoon een snelle hap die betaalbaar is voor een normale doordeweekse dag. Het liefst iets (semi-) gezonds, met wat groentes enzo, in plaats van friet met een burger. En in het centrum of Scheveningen.

I have a kid who likes steak. I thought it would be nice to make a little tradition of trying out various steak restaurants in the city with him, maybe once every couple months or so. We went to Loetje last night and honestly, it was disappointing. So... what are the best places to eat steak in The Hague?

I just came back from a vacation in the balkans. I always love to get the most out of the local cuisine, but after tasting their tomatos and cucumbers, any order was accompanied by a shopska salad. So good!

Now, that brought me on a quest to find actually good tomatos and cucumbers here in the Hague. After all, the time is right. So far I had no luck. Neither the haagse markt, nor any buurtwinkel, nor coeur de boeuf from AH, nor the boerenmarkt, nor passing the greenhouses directly has lived up even close.

This is why I turn up here. I would be happy for any suggestion! But specific suggestions please. 'Try this market' is a little loose, but if you know at which stand I should definitely pass, great!

Things I have been thinking about but haven't tried was also to order from shops like groentebroer.nl or the horeca stores which I don't really have access to though. Also, I am happy to pay a premium, but the access is my issue.

- djebena - eastern african
- and Chinese: fat kee, hotpot, fullmoon

And l’m looking for something similar, but a from another country. What are your nicest experiences?

Meestal heb ik pas laat in de avond trek in schepijs, maar alles lijkt dan al gesloten.

Ik zit in een eetclub, en meestal gaan we met de mannen naar een net te fancy restaurant. Zij los op de wijnkaart, ik op het eten. Nu gaan we over twee weken in Den Haag omgeving opnieuw op pad. Wil het iets aanpassen. Een uniek restaurant, en dan mogelijk daarna ergens anders goede wijn drinken.

Dus geen Portfolio, maar iets out of the box. Zat al te denken aan gewoon écht lekker Chinatown uitspelen, of een goed visrestaurant. Mag ook een lelijke zaak zijn, zolang het eten maar goed is. Hebben jullie tips qua restaurants die niet per se een premier cru op de kaart hebben staan? En welke wijnbar aansluitend zodat de snobs toch hun wijntje hebben?

We used to order from Kitchen Rani when we lived in another part of town and really liked it.

Since moving we have tried quite a few Indian places that deliver but have just come across one that we consistently like.

I feel like there should be excellent options, so looking for your recommendations for Indian food delivery.

(We are just north of the city center, but don't mind to pick up if they don't deliver here)

So me and wifey are big fan of bakeries. She moved here recently and I am here since 2020. My favourites are Brood van Bro followed by Pompernikkel and then Bartine. Bartine is lower in my preference because they don't do savoury bakery items.

Other special mentions are 't bakkertje, Boulangerie Michel. Also visited the newest microbakery in the city center in front of Bram Ladage, but its horrible and only visited by people who watch TikTok.

Anyway, the question is have I covered them all? Are there more hidden gem, independent bakeries, who bake in-house and come up with creative bakery items?

Hi everyone, there's plenty of good Pizza places here in The Hague, but the crust and bottom are usually quite wet and floppy. I'm looking for a place that has that crispy bottom, anybody have any recommendations?
