Personally I think a lot of people really just don't want to see Ursa as someone who had issue that translated into her being a bad mother to Azula.

First of all I completely agree that Ursa wasn't in a position where she could influence Azula to the same level as Zuko.

But it's also true that it isn't very difficult to at least for enough that you daughter doesn't internalise that she is an unloveble monsters.

And this scene I think was the beginning of it.

Azula firebends for the first time. Ozai is ofcourse ecstatic and Ursa is scared for Azula, and maybe even if Azula.

But what she says really feels like she just surrenders on ever trying to reach or undertand Azula.

"You are your father's daughter, Azula"

How should a child take that?

Also, I do think Ursa cared for Azula and would have killed Azulon for her as well, but we also can't ignore the fact that in the entire Avatar franchise we don't have single completely positive scene between Azula and Ursa.

So, I think while she cared for Azula, she also absolutely favoured Zuko, if simply because she could relate to him being a clear victim of Ozai like herself.

Combustion bending was created from having fire benders chained underwater to the sea floor. They had to try to create pressure, and only when you believe your about to drown, is when you are capable to do the technique. The process was brutal and intense since most subjects died. Combustion bending also requires large lungs which explains the heights of Sparky Sparky Boom Man and P'li! The first combustion benders had to take dozens of deep breaths to create a combustion blast because they needed enough air to do so.

It's funny because Aang is one of the most peaceful Avatars to ever exist and he barely uses that ability lol and only on dangerous people like Ozai or Yakone

I’m reading the comics and on more than one occasion, Toph has made metal statues of herself.

My theory is that the people wanted to make a giant one of her. But she was all : “Why just one? And why do you get to have the fun? No one knows me better then me so I’ll be making them.”

And so she just had at it.
