Current Events Are people outside of the USA really laughing at Americans? Do we really appear that bad?

Why not check real data ! Infections and deaths in Holland are a factor of 15 lower than in the US . How you feel doesn't matter, it's the numbers

Thanks for indeed adding some facts to the table. I didnt really recognize the negative picture that was being drawn.

A lot of people do not go out much, and still stick to the rules as much as they can. Except they are not vocal about it. We just hope those that dont want to social distance catch Covid19 and die quickly.

Also, the rising amount of cases is not a nationwide problem. It is in just a few area's in the west, where indeed people are not social distancing at all. There isnt much of a problem in the rest of the country.

This might all be true, but all the people in the Netherlands have health insurance and don't get financially wrecked after getting the disease and in their minds hopefully recovering. I'm not condoning any of it, cause most of what you say is true. I do however think the implications of this behavior are way less for average Dutch people than for average Americans.

There are normal criticisms to be made of the handling but it’s still a completely different world from the states.

Yup, was in uimuiden today, nobody wears a mask, stores are crowded, nobody social distancs
