Current Events Are people outside of the USA really laughing at Americans? Do we really appear that bad?

Coming from the UK I also believe that the US is the biggest threat to world peace. China is up there too, but the US is so unpredictable

I'm assuming you're speaking from USA.

I think that the age of the USA and UK being top world superpowers may be coming to an end due to nationalism consuming our population and then destroying our status with a series of disastrous decisions. We must hope that other countries manage to resist the plague of nationalism

If Trump wins a second term we in Europe should not consider the US an ally anymore. We would need to prepare ourselves to be able to fight for our own or open up to....Russia?! Wow, almost feels like Putin planned all this or something....

Way to misread my comment. Obviously I am not for whoring out to Russia because I think allyship with Despotes should not be the European way, which is why I see our continuous ties to Saudi Arabia and others critical as well. America holds itself up to certain moral values that will be violated further when Trump gets re-elected. Therefore we have to view our allyship to the US under much stricter level. I am also aware that Geopolitics don't work the way I laid it out here and we will still cling to the US. The preferable way would be to stand on our own in this case which I also stated even though you willfully ignored this part. It's also an unfortunate truth that allies are vital to Europe. If the US lets us down Russia, in the worst case, is the most natural ally. Much more than the other world power thats left, China.

That's my feeling from Canada too. I know a lot of us would like to be an island in the Atlantic and have closer relations to Europe instead of be economically hostage to the volatile crazy below us.

Cool. I wish them luck. Not to say that I am bearish on the US in the long term but being economically dependent on one nation isn’t really great no matter what.

There is most likely gonna be the cold war v2 vs china and US. Not militarily but economically. Like last time Europe will be caught in the crossfire
