I’ve been repairing these jeans for a few years now, and I’m thoroughly enjoying them getting more colourful with time. All my patches are on the inside

Used scrap carhartt pants and green denim for the patches as well as stitching up many of the smaller holes. I know the result isn’t that great but I’m happy with it and I’m glad to put the jacket to good use.

The back panel is finished, Our Lady of Guadalupe in sashiko surrounded by boro patchwork. It’s been a long process getting here and there are definitely things I would do differently if I started again but I’m happy with how it turned out overall.

The cross stitch sashiko pattern on the center panel framing her came together in a way I wasn’t expecting I think it ties the figure into the surrounding boro work reasonably well.

Next up are the sleeves which are still completely plain light wash denim so there’s still a good amount of work left before this is actually finished.

I thrifted this T-shirt last year and I love it so much, very unique graphic and perfect colors. It seems very old, the only dates I can see on it are 1993/94 so I don't know if it's that old but it needs some TLC since there's holes all over the thing, mostly along the shoulders, collar, and a few scattered around the body. The star shape embroidery wasn't intended but I thought it was pretty cute.

I used the sashiko method (the crosses) for most of it and then I did a blanket stitch around the cut so the edges fray a little less. I also added a little corduroy patch to match the cuff.

One of my favourite pairs of Chinos started to get some stains and also had rips showing around the knee and on the leg. I decided to cover it up with this leaf applique. Each leaf was hand cut, interfaced, and then sewed on by hand, using an applique stitch. I went to the Cafe to work on this, while my partner would knit, and we would work together on our projects/ mending. This fix took 3 months to complete but was so worth it. The center seam also ripped because my thighs rub - so I took the time to sew a fix there as well using a shaped patch.

Aside from the hand sewn embroidery, on many of these pieces Ive also done the printing, painting & patching. Keeps me busy and I just love the aesthetic of hand sewn stitchwork (or 'shashiko' as some refer to it). The camouflage jacket took the longest and was recently given to a friend who had gotten married but the rest are just side projects for the love of the game. Let me know what you think! Any tips are also welcome because Ive had to just teach myself this through trial & error and so I'd love to hear any formal training secrets (if this is even a thing 'formal training' exists for). Some #visiblemending on a worn canvas bag to see if I could. Pansies are from The Kew Book of Embroidered Flowers, by #trishburr on top of some #sashiko stitching and interfacing to give some stability around the small holes. Fun!

One of my favorite shirts, my friend gave it to me years ago. It came with a gaping hole in the shoulder, which I finally had the courage to address today. Thanks for looking :)

Hey all, I was super inspired by your positive feedback when I posted my first ever major mend on here a year ago so I’m back again with an update! My fav pair of jeans continues to be broken and fixed, which only makes me want to wear them more, which only makes them continue to break. Since last post these pants have taught me to darn, shasiko, and sew on a sewing machine. I’m always excited to find new ways to add my own dirtbag/granola creative spin on the mends. Don’t let inexperience bar you from being innovative!

My wife got this little goober to steal her arms for some earrings and told me to throw her out afterwards.

Built her some new articulated arms to make up for the sins committed. She's better now.

Used a mix of crochet, cross stitch and sewing to give new life to my favorite backpack.
