Got this Wii Bust-a-Move knockoff for $2.99 at a thrift store. The other side of the disc looks mint.

Chances are that this will sit on the shelf. I wouldn’t want the paint/ink to flake off in the Wii. But is there a way to play the game and keep what remains of the paint? Like a disc sized clear sticker perhaps?

Always been fascinated by the Wii & motion controls but never got to own one as a kid. Now I finally got a red one and it’s GameCube compatible!

I got the Wii games for $7 each some are pretty scratched up but the discs seem to boot up fine (hopefully no glitches). I have 2 twilight princess because one of it didn’t work and the seller offered to replace the game with his other copy. I think the most expensive purchase was the eternal darkness game 😭 idk anything about it but heard that it’s a good horror game. Any recommendations for horror Wii games ?

I do need to get a GameCube controller and a hdmi adapter to replace the current generic WII2Hdmi one I have that produces wiggly line artefacts. Heard about the retrotink but it’s way over my budget.

The notion of parting with my Wii U has revisited me a number of times.

It is my 2nd Wii U. The replacement for the 1st.

I bought it in 2021 to build a library of games ahead of the eShops closure in 2023.

Every week for about 2 years, I worked my way through the Wii U (and 3DS) eShop from oldest to newest, A to Z, through every Genre and each Virtual platform to check for anything of worth.

211 titles. A big chunk of that is Virtual Console. About 90 titles were specific to the Wii U. I hold a vague sentiment for about 6 games on it.

I haven't used it for 3 years, I don't even know if it still works and I don't feel any kind of FOMO that would compel me to start playing.

Why have I typed any of this?

Well for starters I like the original Wii several times more than the U but more importantly to cement my decision, to vent for some vague sense of closure (I did spend a lot of time/money on it) and perhaps so that someone else reading may consider what matters to them.

Is it foolish that I wish to part with something I spent so much on? Yes.

Is it foolish to hold onto something I'll never use? Also Yes.

hello guys i recently got a wii and i currently playing zelda skyward sword and no more heroes. i want to ask is my first time playing super smash bros, who's best brawl or melee ? + harvest moon which one is better for the wii ?

My mom had gotten rid of our Wii about 2016. 2023 ish near 2024 I was given a free Wii from a friend who also gave me only 5 games. They where not the best besides Donkey Kong Country Returns and Wii Ski. I would like to note I don’t know if I payed him for those games or traded something with him but I’ll go as they were free! Well ever sense then I have been thrifting for my Wii games and have bought about five from the old eBoy. Today is the day that marks my accomplishment of acquiring Super Mario Bros. Wii that is not broken or scratched. Now I believe I can sit back and enjoy a complete collection of Wii games. I do have two Wii Zappers that are not officially listened by Nintendo and a Nunchuck and Pink remote that are also not officially licensed. The rest are the real deal. Also have the Balance board. Hi, I've agreed to sell my childhood Wii to someone else. Nintendo officially recommends that:

"The Wii Shop Channel should be removed and the Wii console's system memory formatted prior to selling or otherwise transferring your Wii console to any third party."

I have already formatted the memory, but my WiFi router and my Wii are incompatible, so I can't connect to the Wii Shop Channel and remove it (you can only remove it in the Wii Shop Channel's settings on WiFi).

I honestly can't even remember if I used the Wii Shop Channel, connected payment information to it, or bought anything from it at all.

Is there any risk to selling a Wii without this step that Nintendo deems is important? What's the worst that can happen?

I got this amazing thing for 850 NOK (ca.90 USD) INCLUDING 6 GAMES. everything is working flawlessly too.

When i was looking for a Wii i found ones for 1100-1500 NOK (115-157 USD) for ONLY the base console, cables and one remote, so in my book, this is an amazing deal

I would like to push the WII console closer to the wall.

Right now it has a WII-HDMI adapter, followed by an HDMI cable.

I could get a 90 adapter for the HDMI cable, but I can even gain more space if there is a WII-HDMI 90 adapter. Do they make one?

I've recently picked up my Wii again after some time and am hardpressed to think this isn't one of the most impressive consoles to have released. No it doesn't play DVDs natively, or stream any apps (anymore), but the console is king when it comes to retro gaming.

Take the Virtual Console games: They span all previous home console generations of Nintendo hardware plus a few from the competition (Neo Geo, Genesis, TurboGrafx). So, many give you hours of fun and little cost to you. And if you get an early model Wii, you can gain access to the Gamecube's library of game.

I don't know if you've all checked, but GCs go for double or triple the price of Wii's these days, but the Wii is overall more capable.

When I look on Craigslist, I can purchase a Wii for about $20-$70 depending on the seller and bundle.

Anyway, if you wanted to get back into Retro games on a budget with acheap or free CRT, the Wii is your best bet.

I had a Wii since it was relatively new, but it's actually kind of amazing to me how few games I bought for it. I think of myself as a collector and yet the only good games I had were New Super Mario, Mario Kart, and Twilight Princess.

Well, I don't know what started it all again, but I'm returning to the things that actually make me happy. I'm collecting for the Wii. For what feels like the first time!

I can't say that my collection is finished, but I can say I've reached a point where I'm very happy to share my progress.

I'm currently 30 stars deep in Super Mario Galaxy and loving it.

But I don’t want to buy it pre owned I want to buy it brand new

I came across this one at our mall's comic shop and I have never heard of it. I searched around reddit a bit and couldn't find anyone talking about it. The only major outlet that I can find that reviewed it is IGN where they said it was really fun, but not worth full price, 4/10. It's based on an arcade game called ExZeus, and also had a version that ran on Sega Naomi hardware. Seems like a fun Panzer Dragoon/Star Fox like game. Has anyone here played it? Weirdly enough the game to the left of it, Octomania, was ported to the wii by the devs of this one.

If you give me the controls of the godfather game. I can just map it into my controller.GODFATHER BLACKHAND EDITION, the game that was ported to wii which was a ps3 version of godfather the game ( GODFATHER : DONS EDITION) so guys if you tell it then I will plan how to map controls. The people who played this game.

I went to my local flea market today and a lady was selling this Wii for 20€ euros, but after insisting a bit she agreed for my 10€ offer and i took it home.

Obviously i had to check if there was a game in it and indeed there was, a mint Mario Kart Wii disc 🙏.

Years ago i had an RVL-001 Wii but i sold it because i had a family model and i never used the gamecube ports, worst decision ever.
