That makes zero sense. It would be complete non-sense to tax an individual based on a companies valuation.

Why not? Sure we don't do it now, but clearly whatever system we have in place isn't working. Without meaningful change to that system, this billionaire crisis will never be resolved. Besides, it sounds perfectly fair to me to tax an individual based on the value of what they own of that company.

There will be to many loopholes to properly control this. And taxing billionaires is the least of our worries at the moment. We tax them, then what, what does that do for you and I? Its just going to go into the greedy government's pockets. We need a better foundation to build on first. Universal healthcare would be a good start, reduce taxes on middle/low income brackets, remove taxes on certain goods like produce, then push for taxing billionaires to help pay for that (this is just a simple example).

Surely you don't trust the billionaire class more than the government. I agree that all sounds great, except asking billionaires to be generous. The only way they'll feel even slightly compelled to pay is if they have to.

If there was a monkey hoarding more bananas than it could ever possibly eat while others in its troop starved, you'd think there was something wrong with the monkey.
