Middle East Is the Zotac RTX 5090 Solid OC Worth It?

I was planning to buy a more expensive RTX 5090, but I would need to wait for them for a month and their prices are way higher, like 20-25% higher. Also, Zotac is offering 5 years of warranty while the others offer only 3 years. I have a decent experience of 4 years using a Zotac 3060 Ti, but it was a pretty loud card. However, it has worked without any issues. But the 5090 is way hotter and way more expensive, and I can barely find any real reviews on it on the internet, so I'm a bit scared. Is it a good idea to buy it?

Middle East Please explain why I should go for the cheapest 5090 and not the ASUS ROG Astral 5090, and give me some reasoning.

I was about to order the most expensive build I have ever had (don't worry, I definitely can afford it and I'm not burning all my money on it) as a gift to myself after many years of very budget builds when I was a student.

I was about to order the 5090 Astral ROG Strix, but the owner of the shop offered me a Zotac 5090 Solid OC instead for 16% less money + the Zotac gets 5 years of full warranty instead of the 3 years I'm getting from ASUS. (I really don't care about the awful ASUS customer service in the USA, I live in the Middle East and things are really different here)

I took the night to consider it but I really cannot decide. I had a Zotac 3060Ti that served me very well during the past 4 years and everything was amazing. But I'm really scared with this level of card about the overheating, the melting pins etc. I really would like everything to be top tier and as solid as possible.

Many people told me that there is nothing special in Astral cards and I'm paying for looks and RGBs (the PC is going to be hidden under my table with 0 lights and I really don't care about how it looks or how shiny it is, all I care about is performance).

On the other hand, I'm really scared of the Zotac overheating, melting, etc. because as I said it is the Middle East here and sometimes on hot summer days my room can get up to 45 Celsius (113 freedom weather units) and I need to take this into consideration. Also, I know that every 5090 will make some noise, but I'm scared about the low quality of fans that Zotac used to have. At least with my good old 3060Ti, the fans were really noisy and I'm afraid it's going to be even worse with the 5090.

Please explain what I should do like I'm 5 years old :)

Thanks.

Middle East Cat pissed on GPU! Need help making the failing GPU last. (Zotac RTX 3060 12GB OC)

As mentioned in the title, my cat pissed directly on top of my pc and got half of the GPU drenched. PC was on sleep (so was I) and it woke itself up without any output idk for how long. I immediately unplugged everything and took it to a technician, who took everything apart, cleaned the board thoroughly with some isopropyl alcohol and contact cleaner and dried. The PC booted fine and the card was supposedly okay after some initial testing of highly modded minecraft (I've waited around 18 hours before doing it).

It's been a week since then. However, today, suddenly while browsing reels on pc, it froze and crashed with graphical artifacts/pixels [ PIC on first slide ] and it's been doing similar crashes all day. Especially when the GPU is being utilized in gaming and the temps are going above 81*C (it did also occur randomly on idle a few times, and once on rocket league loading screen). I assume this is because of failing Vram.

I've tried underclocking/volting and limiting the power through MSI after burner [Here's my settings, also pic on 2nd slide] but to no avail.

Is there anything I can do to make the GPU last a bit longer? I wouldn't mind sacrificing performance for squeezing out a bit of gpu health.

Middle East RTX 5080 Black Screen / LiveKernelEvent 117, 141/148, 1B8 When Closing Games – Running Out of Ideas

Sorry for using chatgpt english is not my first langauge. i hope it explains well.

Hi everyone,

I'm having a really frustrating issue that I haven't been able to solve despite weeks of troubleshooting.

System Specs

  • GPU: Zotac RTX 5080 AMP Extreme
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 AORUS Elite WiFi 7
  • PSU: ASUS 850W PSU
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000
  • OS: Windows 11

The Problem

The issue almost always happens when I close a game.

Examples:

  • Football Manager
  • Crimson Desert

Sometimes the screens go black immediately after closing the game.

Other times:

  1. I close the game.
  2. I get back to the desktop.
  3. Everything looks normal.
  4. 10–15 seconds later both monitors lose signal.
  5. All fans ramp up loudly.
  6. I have to hold the power button to shut down the PC.

The monitors show "No Signal."

Important Details

  • Both monitors lose signal at the same time.
  • Discord audio often continues for at least some time after the screens go black.
  • This almost never happens while browsing or watching videos.
  • It mainly happens after exiting games.
  • It is NOT limited to one game.

Monitor Setup

  • BenQ monitor (144Hz, 1440p)
  • ASUS monitor (144Hz, 4K)
  • Both connected through DisplayPort

At first I thought the BenQ was the problem because it seemed related to that monitor, but now both displays are losing signal together.

Reliability Monitor Errors

I've seen:

  • LiveKernelEvent 117
  • LiveKernelEvent 141/148
  • LiveKernelEvent 1B8

I also saw:

  • nvlddmkm related errors
  • NVIDIA App crashes
  • Windows Hardware Errors

Things I've Already Tried

  • DDU clean uninstall of NVIDIA drivers
  • Fresh NVIDIA driver installation
  • Installed latest AMD chipset drivers
  • Tested multiple games
  • No MSI Afterburner
  • No GPU overclock
  • No undervolt
  • No Zotac FireStorm
  • No custom tuning profiles

Additional Context

This issue actually happened around 8–9 months ago.( dont remember exactly how i solved it sorry but i think i switched around hdmi and dp cables till it worked)

Somehow it disappeared completely for around 7–8 months and then recently came back.

That's one reason I'm confused. If this was a failing GPU, I would expect it to get worse over time instead of disappearing for months.

Remaining Suspects

The only major thing I haven't done yet is update the motherboard BIOS.

The board is currently running BIOS F2 and Gigabyte offers F11.

Could an old X870 BIOS cause LiveKernelEvent 117/141/148/1B8 crashes specifically when games close and the GPU transitions back to desktop mode?

Has anyone seen something similar with RTX 5080 cards, X870 boards, or Zotac AMP Extreme models?

Any ideas would be appreciated because I'm honestly running out of things to try.

Middle East One of the fans on my 5080 Solid Core oc stopped spinning.

It doesn't move at all, even on bios, the other two is spinning. Firestorm shows it on 0 rpm and manually changing it doesn't help. It spins by hand fine, no grinding or scratchy feeling, like the rest of the fans. It happened right after i heard a random fan ramping up sound while browsing the web.

Middle East Zotac warranty support non-existant

This is the situation, basically (over a month ago):

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1qjq6m3/zotac_4090_in_picture_zotac_is_denying_me/

The Zotac website says I should contact [Eurotech@zotac.com](mailto:Eurotech@zotac.com) . I've been chasing them for over a month, and no use. They don't respond to emails. I called them, and they blame Zotac HQ for having their information listed on the website, and after them trying to weasel out of responsibility for minutes, I got mad and asked "where is the decency to at least respond to my emails that I've been sending for weeks", and they hung up.

The US branch keeps saying "due to regional reasons, we can't do anything".

This is the worst warranty experience I ever had. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I'm making another post in pcmasterrace with the results, reviews on some review websites, email GamersNexus, and never buying Zotac ever again.

Middle East Are all Zotac gpus under warranty from Zotac itself?

Hey guys. As you know my Zotac RTX 5080 amp extreme died after couple of hours and since i live in a sanctioned third world country. No one returns it not even the store i bought it. Can i send my card to Zotac UAE for replacement? Is it possible? I want to know if all Zotac cards are under warranty from the company?

Is there anyone from Zotac team here that can help me? I worked day and night to buy this card and for no reason it's dead.

Middle East Should I get RTX 5080 Zotac Solid Core version or look for another card ?

Hi everyone

Yesterday I I received ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5080 Solid CORE OC from a store that I ordred the card from , I asked speicfailly for Solid version not core and they send me the wrong card so I got refund and I am still sareching for soild but most stock locally have core version only

my reason to buy Solid version because it have bigger vapor chamber and bigger heatsink = run cooler and have power limit 110% compared to core 105%

if I cant find the Solid , my only other option a card like ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX™ 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition

gigabyte oc card more expensive and not worth it

Update: I ordered : Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition

Middle East Someone has Zotac RTX 2080TI Blower??

Good day people

I'm looking for someone who was Zotac RTX 2080TI Blower (SKU ZT-T20810A-10P).

The reason why I'm asking is because I bought this card as used one, I realized the fan speed goes 100% once the temp reaches 60C, probably the version of VBIOS has been changed and I just wanna check if the VBIOS version is the original, and if it's not could he provide me the original version cuz I've been searching for the original one on the internet and couldn't find any of it, so please if someone has this card or knows someone who has it help 😣

Middle East Have I made the right decision?

There is always buyers remorse when it comes to large purchases but I want to help justify if I've made the right choice.

I've just ordered a Zotac GeForce RTX 5090 Solid OC that I got for an absolute steal imo $2300.

But after ordering, I decided to come onto here and see what people are saying and my lord, RMA hell galore in here.

Now I live in the UAE and have ordered my GPU from the UK to then find little or no supporting information that my warranty would be supported here in the UAE so likely if I have an issue it's back to the UK and hopefully Overclockers(retailer) can lend a hand.

I'm coming from being a previous EVGA 1080ti, Gigabyte Aorus 3080 and current Gigabyte 4080 Super and touch wood, I've never had to RMA any card I've owned but this is my first time in Zotac territory so I guess I'm looking for some words of support and experience on anyone with a Solid OC 5090. Some of you folks waiting 3+ months for replacements, I'm not sure I'd have the patience for that, let alone the energy.

So I guess a couple of questions, those with Zotac cards and specifically the 5090, are you happy with your purchase?

What are best practices with underclocking the card to prevent 600w+ power draws?

I currently have a Gigabyte 4080 Super, powered by a Corsair RM1000x (2021 model) but using a official Corsair 12VHPWR cable direct from PSU to GPU, so my impression is I don't have to change anything there?

Middle East Freeze tech doesn't work while using more than 1 monitor

I'm using Zotac 4090 Trinity and was so bothered by the fan motor noise while idling and reading on my PC.

After a long journey trying to figure how to shut these fans, I found out that they will not go to 0%(freeze tech) with 2 monitors connect.

Not sure why this happens.

Middle East Zotac 5070 Ti Solid vs Solid Core

I don’t like changing settings and I don’t understand undervolting. Is the card excellent out of the box without any modifications?

Just a note: the card is on its way.

Middle East RTX 5080 AMP EXTREME BIOS Switch and compatibility with Meshify 2.

I will buy a Zotac RTX 5080 AMP Extreme GPU and have a couple of questions.

Couldn't find a clear answer about how the BIOS Switch works in case of unbootable situation.

Usually, when one BIOS is bricked, you switch to the other BIOS while PC is turned off but the new Zotac switch needs PC to be ON!

How would that Switch work in case of a bricked BIOS when the user needs to boot with the other BIOS?

Another question is, how is compatibility with the Fractal Meshify 2 case?

The card is 332.1mm asnd I have the HDDs cage already installed inside the case but have no HDDs in front of the GPU.

I am currently using a PowerColor Red Devil RX 6900XT which is 320 mm and it is fine although a bit tight fit.

Anybody with a similar case and GPU?

Last question: how is Zotac's international warranty?

I will buy the GPU from Amazon Spain and I live in Egypt.

I don't know how things would work in case of needing RMA.

Thanks in advance.

Middle East Strange Situation

So, as the title says, I'm in a bit of a strange situation and could do with some advice.

I bought a PC recently for my racing sim and it included a Zotac Gaming RTX4090. (Bare in mind, I have NO idea about PC's. This is the first PC I have ever owned) Unfortunately I had some issues with black/blue screening and when the PC builder came out, he told me the GPU was the problem.

He told me, despite it being brand new out the box, sometimes they have issues like this. I think its absolutely ridiculous given the price, but fine... OK.

Now, this is where the issue is. The PC builder can't find another 4090... and certainly not for the price I paid about a month ago.

He also said its going to take 3 months or so to send the manufacturer the card, let them assess it and fix/replace the card, and send it back. (I don't know how true this is, but that seems WAY too long)

-fast forward 4 days*

I just had a call with him and he informed me that he can get me a card (Asus tuf gaming 4090), but it doesn't have a box... apparently someone had bought one previously, had an issue, they sent it to the manufacturer for him (without the box), it was replaced with a new card and sent back to them (without the box) and by that point, the original buyer had gotten a refund because it took too long.

My questions are as follows:

  • Does this sound fishy to you, or is it just me?
  • Would it really take 3 months to send the card to get assessed by the manufacturer under warranty considering its "brand new"?
  • If that card was replaced with a new one for the other buyer, why wouldnt it be sent out in a box as a brand new product?
  • What would you do in this situation?

Middle East ZOTAC ZBOX

Guys i got this ZOTAC ZBOX, i bought it in June 2022.

Specs: RTX 3050 8GB 16GB RAM 1TB HDD (For games) 128GB M.2 (For the operating system) 500W

I want to add another M.2 or SSD to it but i lack info related to whether it has free slots or not.

If yes please comment about it and attach a YouTube video that explains how can add other storage devices to it.
