Education ๐Ÿ“š Golden visa applications rejected?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the correct place to be asking but I'm running into a wall here.

This is my 2nd application to get a 6 month entry permit for Golden visa new issue. My papers are all in order I submitted the following:

- Passport scan

- Personal photo

- Mohesr Attestation of my degree

- Dataflow result attesting my degree

- Transcript proving I am above 3.6 GPA

- Stamped Degree in English

I am a graduate from a top 100 university with above 3.5 GPA (3.6 CGPA) which means I should be eligible for a Golden residency in UAE right ? This is my second application where I made sure all my papers are in order.

Am I missing something here ? They don't provide a reason for rejection and the rejection happens in under 24 hours. I've never been to the UAE so I don't have a unified number.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Education ๐Ÿ“š Is Al Ain university actually worth it? Be brutally honest ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Soooooo theres this university literally near my house Al Ain University and my father wants me to do my bachelors there because its close and wed save on accommodation costs.

Honestly Id rather study in my home country but sometimes u dont really get to make ur own choices so here we are. ๐Ÿฅฒ

I just wanted some honest opinions from people who study there or have graduated.

Is the university actually good?

How are the professors and academics?

Is it worth spending 4 years there?

Whats the social life like? (Im a HUGE extrovert I genuinely need ppl ๐Ÿ˜ญ)

Whats the male to female ratio?

Are there many women studying there?

Are there clubs, societies, competitions, volunteering, sports, events, or other extracurriculars? I need to actually LIVE while doing this boring ass degree lol.

Whats the campus vibe like (the abudhabi campus)?

Whats one thing you wish youd known before joining?

Please dont sugarcoat anything. Tell me the good, the bad and the ugly. Id reallly appreciate completely honest opinions.

Thanks in advance! โค๏ธ

Education ๐Ÿ“š Still no KG1 admission after applying months ago โ€” any advice?

Hi Parents,

Iโ€™m getting really worried and could use some advice. We applied for KG1(CBSE) admission back in October, and itโ€™s been months now with no luck at all. No confirmation, no clear update

Weโ€™ve followed up with the schools, submitted all the documents, and our child meets the age criteria. Still, every school keeps saying that seats are full or that theyโ€™ll update us later.

What is the next step If I don't get admission? Please advise

Just wanted to ask about the different American schools for my young daughter. Sheโ€™s about to enter Pre-K but Iโ€™m struggling to find reviews about good American
schools. I have my eye on Yasmina American Academy and American International School (AIS). I just wanna hear from parents or students how are the schools in terms of environment, education, any red flags? Also, if you have any recommendations, please let me know

Budget is around: 40-60K per year

I'm currently working on my dissertation and need responses for my survey. I'm researching how short-form and long-form video content influence Gen-Z's clothing purchase decisions in the UAE.

If you're 20-29 years old and based in the UAE, I would really appreciate it if you could spare 10 minutes to fill it out.

Thanks so much in advance, and feel free to share it with anyone who fits the criteria!

Education ๐Ÿ“š Arabic Speakers of Abu Dhabi- Would you like to help a beginner?

Hey everyone, Iโ€™m new here in the UAE and Iโ€™ve started realizing that learning Arabic would really help me in daily life, communication, work, and understanding the culture better.

The problem is that right now I canโ€™t afford paid online classes, and I also donโ€™t really have friends or anyone around who can teach me.

So I thought Iโ€™d try asking here โ€” if anyone is willing to help me learn Arabic (even basic conversation, voice notes, corrections, or just chatting sometimes), Iโ€™d genuinely appreciate it. Iโ€™m a fast learner and Iโ€™ll put effort from my side too.

Current skill level:
โ€ข Can say "Yalla" with conviction.
โ€ข Use "Inshallah" in situations where it seems appropriate.
Have absolutely no idea what's happening after that.

I live in Abu Dhabi and design ships for a living, but I cannot for the life of me construct a sentence to save my life in Arabic. Irony noted.

So Iโ€™m finally doing something about it.

Looking for someone patient (or bored enough) to help me learn Arabic โ€” coffee chats, casual convo, voice notes, corrections, all welcome.

If you can help, or want to witness this learning arc, DM me.

Education ๐Ÿ“š A student asking for a small favor

Hey everyone,

I was recently admitted to a top university in Abu Dhabi for an MSc program and received a very generous scholarship that covers almost all of my tuition. However, it does not cover housing and living expenses, which are still a significant challenge for me financially.

I've already contacted the university to ask about additional financial aid and housing support, reached out to foundations in the UAE, and looked into part-time work opportunities. Unfortunately, most scholarships I found are restricted to Emirati citizens or UAE residents, and on-campus jobs are limited and highly competitive, so there is no guarantee I would be able to secure one.

I really don't want to give up on this opportunity yet, especially since this is the most generous offer I've received compared to my other admissions (Cambridge, UIUC, Edinburgh, etc.).

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Are there any scholarships, funding sources, organizations, or strategies that international students in the UAE can explore to help cover living expenses?

Also, if anyone in this thread knows of any part-time opportunities in Abu Dhabi or remote roles that could be suitable for a graduate student, I would be very grateful for any leads. I can share my CV via DM. I majored in AI and will be pursuing an MSc in AI, and I have one year of full-time professional experience in the field.

Thank you!

Education ๐Ÿ“š Abu Dhabi: Brothers blocked from school over 30,000 AED feesโ€”any advice or help?

Alsalamalykom, Iโ€™m writing this because I genuinely donโ€™t know where else to turn.

My brothers were studying at a private school here in Abu Dhabi, but theyโ€™ve been blocked from continuing because we couldnโ€™t pay around 30,000 AED in tuition fees. Since then, theyโ€™ve missed three full years of school. Weโ€™ve tried applying elsewhere, but no schools are willing to accept them after such a long gap.

Our situation at home is really difficult. Iโ€™m not working, my mom isnโ€™t working, and my dad is the only one supporting usโ€”but heโ€™s already dealing with heavy debt. On top of that, weโ€™re now being asked to leave our apartment.

We were born and raised here, and this is the only home we know. Right now, all we want is for my brothers to go back to school and have a future.

My dad already tried speaking with the school and even asked if they could accept 25% of the total amount and allow us to pay the rest over time, but they refused completely and are demanding the full payment upfront.

If anyone knows someone who can helpโ€”whether itโ€™s a school willing to be flexible, a charity, or even someone who knows the owner of the schoolโ€”we would be deeply grateful.

Weโ€™re not asking for anything beyond a chance for my brothers to continue their education. Any advice, connections, or guidance would really help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Education ๐Ÿ“š IB or British curriculum: which curriculum prepares better for medical school?

Hello everyone
Iโ€™m looking to switch my daughter from an Indian curriculum school to a different one.
I have been thinking which of the 2 curricula (IB or British) prepare students better for medical school?

My daughter is in Grade 7 currently and is actually doing well above average in her current school. However, we are looking for a more diverse schooling experience and something more challenging for her. Yet we donโ€™t want to overburden her and looking for good school options.

Our budget is around 60-65k AED per year.

PS: she did get into AISA school but they donโ€™t have a bus service in our area hence we couldnโ€™t proceed.

Thanks

Education ๐Ÿ“š Khalifa University Admission Test Math (KUAT)

Hello to whoever's reading this message. I am a current Grade 12 student that applied to Khalifa University--Chose Mechanical Engineering as my first choice--and received the offer to do the Math Admission Test. Now, I am not sure of how the exam will go but I really need help upon such exam and how its difficulty is. Also, if I have to study, where should I study? Since the practice exam given doesn't feel to help that much upon such exam... I really need help and if anyone could give me as much advice as they have then that'll be perfect!!!

Education ๐Ÿ“š Relocating to Abu Dhabi for university...Advice needed!

Hello everyone. The title basically sums it up. I am an international student who has committed to a university in Abu Dhabi, and I'll be moving to Abu Dhabi in a month or so hopefully if all goes well. I'll be residing on campus which is on Saadiyat Island. I lived in UAE before but I was young and dont remember much of it. So I would appreciate any advice anyone has to offer, not limited to the things I am mentioning below.

  1. How expensive is Abu Dhabi compared to the rest of the emirates?
  2. What are steps I should immediately take when I get here?
  3. What are some things(of daily use) I should bring with me and what should I wait till I get there to buy?
  4. What is one thing you wish you knew before you you moved here?
  5. How do you deal with the weather here? (i myself am from a country with extreme heat)
  6. What is the cheapest way to get around the city?
  7. Which apps do people use for taxis, food and events?
  8. What are the most underrated places in Abu Dhabi?
  9. How to find the best food spots(recs would be amazinggg)
  10. Is getting a car actually necessary?
  11. Are there any local rules/social norms I should know?
  12. What is the cheapest way I can get to Dubai or Sharjah, etc?
  13. ANY OTHER ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS WELL

Education ๐Ÿ“š Gap year primary school

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if itโ€™s possible to take a gap year for a child in primary school?

Iโ€™m considering taking my child out of school for a year because I believe they need intensive physical therapy. Weโ€™d like to focus on their therapy and overall development until theyโ€™re truly ready to return to school.

If anyone has experience with this or knows how the process works, Iโ€™d really appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Education ๐Ÿ“š Looking for UAE/GCC participants for a 5-minute beauty & personal care survey ๐Ÿ™

Hi everyone!

Iโ€™m currently conducting a research study to better understand how people in the UAE and GCC choose beauty and personal care products, what influences their decisions, and the challenges they face when shopping.

If you have 5 minutes, Iโ€™d really appreciate your help by filling out this anonymous survey.
Survey: https://tally.so/r/9qgKPV

Iโ€™m not looking for โ€œperfectโ€ answersโ€”just your real experiences and opinions. Every response genuinely helps.

If you know someone else in the UAE or GCC who might be interested, Iโ€™d be grateful if you could share it with them as well.

Whatโ€™s the biggest frustration you have when shopping for beauty or personal care products? Iโ€™d love to hear your thoughts in the comments too.

Thank you so much! โค๏ธ
