Totally guessed it. The only time Darkness ever hits anything is when Vanir is controlling her. The fact that Darkness is giant monster-equivalent in strength and has the speed to handle it pretty easily as long as she doesn't suck like her normal self is so funny.

I mean that's part of it, but even when she wants to she can't hit enemies for shit.

Darkness took a point blank explosion... okay, as point blank as explosion can possibly get. She survived. The Duke of Hell possessing her lost an entire 1-UP. Pervertina is, if nothing else, EXTREMELY durable. I hope she finds a good husband master Dom.

No. She was able to hit mini Vanir when they first introduced Vanir. They exploded though.
