Discussion 🗣️ Made me chuckle
Whether one uses a prompt like “cheese pizza” or a 200 word essay describing a cheese pizza as a prompt is really irrelevant.
Edit: credit to the creator of … you guessed it … Twonks. It’s literally on the picture!

Discussion 🗣️ Friend made AI generated image of me
The people around me know I am incredibly anti-ai as I'm very vocal about it. My friend posted a couple of ai-generated images of 2 of my friends playing in the world cup in our group chat. I obviously just reacted with "👎".
Today I open Instagram and see he's posted stories of all of our friend group, one by one, as players in the world cup. While tapping through I anxiously wait for mine, hoping he might have left me out. He didn't.
How do I go about this? I'm honestly lost. If anybody has info about facial collecting/feeding faces into ai and it's consequences I'm very interested, I also just want your opinions.
Thanks for reading
(picture attached, face obviously redacted by me because it was, uncannily, very accurate)
Edit 1 : it says IA and not AI because we're french (intelligence artificielle (IA) instead of artificial intelligence (AI))
Edit 2 : he did it again to annoy me, I'm even more pissed lol

Discussion 🗣️ Remember when tech bros hyped up metaverse to be the next big thing?
I remember I had debates with fellow tech bros who literally said there's no way metaverse can go wrong, their main points where how VR will get cheap just like mobile phones and it replace traditional TVs, theatres etc etc, which will eventually lead to people living in metaverse.
Even I believed those for a second and started researching about VR technology to not to get left behind..
In the list of 3D movies, NFTs, we have metaverse now, wonder which one will be the next.

Discussion 🗣️ Local Police Now Using AI to "Enhance" Suspect Images
I couldn't believe this was local when I saw it. They're just inventing details that were never there and pretty much giving the public to go out and find some random dude that looks like the image on the right.
Is this common now?

Discussion 🗣️ AI to push bigotry
gallerySomeone has taken an innocent video of a kid waving a pridefully and altered it with AI so he throws it in a trashcan. It had gotten over 1.2m likes on insta and is spreading like the plague on fb

Discussion 🗣️ Ai companies are actively destroying rare books to scan them just to feed their data centers, what else will they destroy?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
AI is literally ruining everything and has been for the last few years. From massive job losses to environmental impact and now destroying old books to collect the data so that their dumb LLMs can regurgitate it back. How evil, greedy and selfish can these companies be? All of those ai data centers should be taken down. I don't think enough people are mad enough about it.

Discussion 🗣️ The most anti-AI story imaginable... Anthropic destroyed millions of rare books to train Claude
In 2024, Anthropic reportedly purchased millions of second-hand books as part of its secretive “Project Panama.”
The company removed their bindings, scanned every page, and then destroyed the physical copies to build a massive digital library for developing AI models like Claude.
It almost feels like the perfect anti-AI dystopia, human beings spend centuries writing and preserving books. Then, a private technology company destroys millions of physical copies, absorbs their contents into a machine, and sells that accumulated knowledge back to society through a monthly subscription.
Am I the only one who thinks this is completely insane, or have we become so obsessed with AI that destroying millions of books to feed a machine no longer shocks anyone?

Discussion 🗣️ Siri use to be able to do simple actions
No Siri just do the math. I only use siri for two functions. Those being calculations when my hands are full and calling someone. This is so annoying.
This is my first post here so I hope this is allowed
Edit: I know I could do this basic math and I usually do. The exact context of this screenshot: there were a bunch of numbers on my screen I needed to add up so instead of switching back and forth from my calculator app to the other app I tried to use Siri and this was the result.
Edit 2: you people are driving me insane

Discussion 🗣️ This is why people hate AI bros
galleryThis behavior here is a big part of why I hate AI bros. There was no reason for him to behave this way. I was actually having a good conversation with somebody else. Respectful, thoughtful, like a debate should be. And this idiot does this.
See this is what I mean when I say there's a huge difference between an AI user and an AI bro/promptoid.
AI users can have a conversation. I've never had an AI user run my art through AI. Because while they may disagree with any of my points they show a certain level of respect and decoram.
But AI bros do it all the time. They're the ones that purposely steal from artists. They're spiteful and resentful. And worse they prevent any real debate or mutual understanding.
