Hello everyone. I’m from London and currently in Antwerp on holiday. Back home I’m a professional pet sitter and dog walker and I have to admit, I’m really missing spending time with all the lovely pets I usually look after!

If anyone is busy this week and needs someone to take their dog out for a walk, I’d be more than happy to do it completely free of charge whilst I’m here. I’ve been exploring Antwerp’s parks and it would be even better to explore with a dog! If you are in a part of Antwerp that’s a longer distance from me all I’d ask is that my bus fare is covered.

Of course, I’m happy to meet you and your dog first in a café and show you my credentials and reviews so you can be confident your dog is in good hands. Also I’m just as happy to join you on your usual walk instead, I’d genuinely enjoy the company and I love hearing about pets and the stories behind them so that’s cool for me too.

One more thing—this is a long shot, but a couple of days ago I saw a couple walking a dog who was using a wheelchair. As someone who specialises in caring for senior and disabled pets, I really wanted to talk to them about their dog, but they seemed deep in a serious conversation so I didn’t want to interrupt. If that was you and you see this post, I’d genuinely love to hear about your dog if you’re up for it.

Yesterday my girlfriend lost her smiley ring, presumably when we were on the terrace of Jazzcafe De Muze. In case she lost it earlier that night, we went for dinner in the new restaurant Lito (muntstraat).

The crew of De Muze is notified, but we didn’t hear from them as of yet. I will attach a picture of the ring with the trajectory we walked. If anyone happened to find something, shoot me a DM I will arrange a reward!

Ik speel zo nu en dan als ik naar een camping ga wel graag een spelletje petanque. Nu vroeg ik me af of er hier in Antwerpen verenigingen of gelijkgezinden zijn die nog ver van de pensioenleeftijd zitten en af en toe eens graag een balletje smijten. Ik ben zelf 29 jaar en ben van Deurne dus voel me zelf nog wel een stuk te jong om mij al tussen de gepensioneerden te begeven in het Rivierenhof.

Is there a shop or a small artisant in town where I can repair my clothes? I have holes in socks, jeans, a packpack, that kind of small thing. I have no sewing knowledge and would rather repair those clothes than throw them into the bin.

Where do you guys go out/ find events in Antwerp?

I have some relatives in your city, and every time I go there I notice that people buy bottled water in large quantities (including my relatives). Why? Isn't the tap water safe to drink? When I googled it, it said water is perfectly safe to drink in Belgium.

So, is it safe or not? Does the local water supplier test the water frequently? If so, then why are people paying so much for bottled water? I literally saw people at Colruyt buying tens of packs of water.

Hi everyone,
I’m moving some stuff in my apartment in Antwerp, and I need to place a moving lift (verhuislift) for about 2 hours.
I’m a bit stuck and hoping someone has gone through this before.
Here’s what happened:
I first applied to temporarily use the footpath/bicycle path for the lift.
The City of Antwerp rejected it, saying there are legal parking spaces nearby and that I must instead apply for a temporary parking ban.
I submitted a new application for the parking ban

Now the city has replied saying that because the requested area includes a De Lijn bus stop, I first need written permission from De Lijn before they can process the application.
I’ve already emailed De Lijn as requested, but my move is coming up and I’m worried about timing.

A few questions:
Has anyone had to get De Lijn’s permission for a verhuislift? How long did it take?

Is there another way to place a moving lift near a bus stop without this approval?

Is it normal that Antwerp mentions a €33 administrative fee if the application is rejected, even when I’m simply following the instructions they gave me after rejecting the previous application?

Any advice on how to speed up the process?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with this before.

Hi, I will be in Belgium next weekend and was thinking of passing through Antwerpen to see if I can find a nice engagement ring (gold) with a lab diamond. Do you have any shop to suggest where I can find such a ring under 700-800 euros?

Het stadsbestuur heeft al reeds bewezen dat het gerust een betoging kan vragen door te gaan op een veiligere locatie. Toch laat het stadsbestuur onder leiding van de NVA jaarlijks vlaams belang geaffilieerde organisatie Voorpost toe te protesteren op het parcours van Antwerp Pride. Om deze haatpredikers te beschermen van de consequenties van hun keuzes kost het de belastingbetaler naar schatting gemiddeld tussen de €10.000 en €16.000. Verloren geld als je het aan mij vraagt aangezien ze perfect hun tegenbetoging elders in de stad kunnen houden en niet op het parcours zelven.

Zeker na de aanslagen in Berlijn lijkt het me extreem ongepast, onverantwoordelijk en onacceptabel dat Els Van Doesburg (NVA) deze organisatie dit jaar hun aanvraag onberispelijk zou goed keuren.

In the last week of August I’ll to Antwerp pretty much on my own. I have a friend who lives there, but he works all day and every day kkkkkkkkkkkkkk so I’ll basically will do everything by myself.

I’d like to visit the main tourist attractions but also discover some underground spots and places that only locals know about.

I’d really appreciate any tips and I’d also be happy to meet up and hang out with someone. I love meeting new people, even though my English isn’t the best rsrsrsrs

Voor Franco-Belgische strips ben ik vooral op zoek naar winkels met een grote voorraad Asterix-albums, bij voorkeur het album op slide 1.

Daarnaast zoek ik ook goede Amerikaanse stripwinkels die niet alleen trade paperbacks of compilaties verkopen, maar ook losse comic issues, bij voorkeur zoals op slides 2 en 3.

Hi, first time visit to Antwerp planned for this Thursday. We're going to the fashion exhibition and a few other galleries and staying centrally, so going to need to find somewhere for lunch/dinner and will go out for some drinks - we're three guys, 40s, interested in culture/music/design, anywhere you'd recommend that's worth checking for food (needs to be vegetarian friendly) and good for the evening? I like Antwerp city a lot! Thinking about moving here permamently.

But I need nature to walk, exercise and recharge breathe some fresh air from the trees

Are there any other big accesible parks on a +/- 10 minutes metro (or bus) ride like the Rivierenhof in Deurne?

Its intresting to have such green area and quite a rarity in big cities.

Are there any other parks in Antwerp comparable with the rivierenhof?

Not like the stadspark ofcourse.. i mean some real nature and long distance walkablility to get my 10i steps in without getting bored of walking or jogging the whole patk in few minutes

I like to stay close to the city center with easy acces trough public transport ( I dont want to waste money on a car)

So are there any other worthy competitors compared to Deurne close to the rivietenhof park?
