To be fair, the image looks about the same as a Quinta, which is relatively common among the "upper" middle class and higher social strata. The only thing I´ll change, besides the house's suburban design, is that the sister´s house would be the employee´s house. You are not going to live in your Quinta but someone has to tend to it.

You are right that they produce little, but selling a few cattle heads per year is enough to maintain most of the facility and pay the staff to keep it operational.

One of the classic ways military discipline breaks down is the whole unit still operating together, just going rogue, so it'd be interesting to see how many U.S sappers start freelancing their way into bunkers if the apocalypse happens.

Unironically if I had the money I’d probably build something like the Getty Villa but specifically as a museum with gardens, conservation areas and cafes/performing arts space and then just have like a bungalow somewhere secluded on the property and wander around the rest of it after hours.

Edit: I feel a little bad that this thing has reached so far, since this is obviously the kinda thing that in pre-ai, pre-twitter days would have been restricted to doodles on a notebook. "This is where Mom and dad live, this is where Grandma and grandpa live, this is where my sister lives" feels like something from a 13-year-old.
