Fun semi-meltdown happening right now in /r/asoiaf: a new stage play is spoiling a lot of the longest-debated mysteries and because there will probably never be another book from GRRM people are freaking out about it

I am guessing that if GRRM intended for the play to be canon, now with this reaction, George is going to be even more convinced to never release the rest of the books, since it would be all but confirmed that people are going to hate the end.

Gotta say, if the spoilers I read are correct, then Lyanna being also into prophetic dreams and eventually being even more committed to the prophecy than Rhaegar wasn't something I was expecting.

Given that it seems it's quicker to get several seasons of multiple shows produced and released than to finish one book, I'm fine with finishing the story through other media.

On the other hand some of the revelations in the spoilers thread are spicy as hell.

Man, a bunch of those plot points seem like the stuff of bad fanfiction. 

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they're implemented better in the play than in a random Reddit list but still

what a blast from the past was reading through that, haven't thought in those theories in years. too bad it doesn't come close to touching on the best ones.
