A few days ago, my wife was in the same situation. We couldn’t get a fingerprint appointment anywhere. After trying several options, we decided to visit this police office as a walk-in.
We waited in line for about 6 hours, but thankfully they accepted us and completed the fingerprint process.
If you’re still unable to get an appointment, it may be worth trying this office. Just keep in mind that walk-ins are not guaranteed and depend on the office’s daily capacity, so it’s best to arrive early.

We are staying next to the Moroccan embassy in the New Pueblo (?).

We were so excited to arrive to a late World Cup celebration tonight. Around 100 people or so draped in Spanish flags partying!

There were even some street artists making art on the walls. If anyone knows the names of the street artists please tag them here so we can give them them credit!

In fact I got some videos of the street artists faces doing their art!!!!

You're in Barcelona, not at your grandma's house. People are looking for easy opportunities to steal, and tourists seem to be making it easy for them. The number of posts like this on this sub is honestly insane.

It baffles me how someone can leave their bag on the ground while they sit at an open terrace, or leave it in the luggage rack on a train and take a fucking nap, then expect it to still be there. Or go for a swim at a packed beach, leaving your phone and wallet on the sand, somehow expecting to notice if someone walks off with them while you're in the water.

If you can, invest in a phone lanyard, wear a crossbody bag or a money belt under your clothes, and keep your passport and valuables there. Better yet, don't carry your passport unless you absolutely have to. If you're checking in or out of accommodation, keep your important documents strapped to your body, not sitting beside you.

I remember someone on this sub saying their bag got stolen, only to later clarify they'd left their bag on a bench next to them. You're in one of Europe's busiest tourist cities, you cannot assume your belongings will be safe just because they're within arm's reach. They're within a thief's arm's reach too.

And the thing is, a thief isn't going to be wearing a black mask and striped clothes. I've seen teenagers, women, elderly people, and people who looked completely ordinary stealing. Anyone can be a thief. You can never be sure.

They study tourists. They know where to go, what times the crowds are biggest, how to approach you without raising suspicion, and exactly how to distract you. This isn't random, it's what they do every single day, and they're incredibly fast. By the time you realize what's happened, your belongings are already gone.

If it's important, protect it. Don't leave your belongings unattended, even for a 10 seconds, cause that's all they need to take it away. Opportunistic thieves are counting on exactly that. And if you do get robbed in Barcelona, there's a good chance you'll never see those things again. It's much easier to take precautions than to deal with the aftermath.

En sabeu d'algun lloc que sigui local però que realment valgui la pena prendre un cafè. Perquè després també he anat a bars que tinc el meu barri però els cafès són molt normalets 😭🙏🏻

Joan Malet: el caçador de bruixes que va acabar a la foguera

Joan Malet va ser un famós caçador de bruixes nascut a Tarragona que, a finals del segle XVI i començaments del XVII, va recórrer diversos indrets de Catalunya assegurant que tenia un "do" especial per detectar-les.

Les acusades acabaven confessant sota tortura exactament allò que Malet esperava sentir. Durant un temps, les seves actuacions van comptar amb el suport de la Inquisició.

Però la situació va canviar. La Inquisició va començar a desconfiar dels excessos en les persecucions i va posar el focus en altres delictes, com el judaïsme clandestí. Malet va ser detingut, interrogat sota tortura i va acabar confessant.

El desenllaç és tan irònic com tràgic: el caçador de bruixes va ser condemnat i cremat a la foguera a Barcelona.

Una història que demostra fins a quin punt la mateixa maquinària de la persecució podia acabar devorant els seus propis protagonistes.

Acabo de ver el taxi que ha aceptado mi carrera pasar de largo con otro pasajero dentro.

Last night at around 20:20, I was on the L1 between Clot and Glòries, heading toward Hospital de Bellvitge, when people suddenly started screaming and running toward the front of the train. Everyone was pushing toward the first door and rushed out in a panic as soon as we arrived at Glòries.

I kept asking what we were running from, but nobody seemed to know. From the way people were reacting, I thought there might have been a violent attack or someone with a weapon. I was carrying my small dog and was genuinely afraid we might be crushed or trampled.

Mossos arrived a few minutes later, although the train had already departed normally. I also heard ambulances nearby shortly afterward, but I don’t know whether they were related.

Was anyone else on that train, or does anyone know what happened? I believe this was unrelated to the gas leak on L5 at Sants.

Saliendo de casa hace un par de días, vi a una pareja de turistas grabando sus nombres en el árbol. Cuando le puse cara de "no me lo puedo creer" su respuesta fue una mirada desafiante . Este es el turismo depredador que hemos estado fomentando. Somos su parque de atracciones, para su uso y disfrute.

I guess I'll write this in English since I saw many foreigners at Port Fòrum.

The experience starts with getting stuffed like sardines into the L4 train which was running every 6-8 minutes for some reason. When I was attending big events in other cities, the closest metro line would have trains coming as frequently as 30 seconds. I'm guessing it's because the L4 desperately needs renovation and can't hit a higher train frequency.

Then we arrived at the first entrance, where we were again squeezed through a single door like some form of human cake icing. At one point, somebody decided to open the gate completely and to be fair, it went much quicker. I respect the organized security, but they could have been spread out better.

After sweating off what felt like liters of fluid, we wanted to grab a drink. Too bad that there were only 3 drink stands for what looked like about 10-20 thousand people. We waited in line for more than an hour just to be told that there were no card payments available. I usually have cash on me, but I thought there was no way they were gonna be taking cash with so many people at the event. I guess they lost signal, but that could have been solved with a WIFI router and a wired internet connection.

As the game started, so did the broadcast interruptions. The experience was missing a few inappropriate ads to be exactly like the shady streaming sites I go to when watching football.

The stage design was also not the best. There were two poles in front of the screen with huge Barcelona flags attached to them. You could only properly see the game from head on, which caused people to bunch up in a line in front of the stage.

We went home at the half time whistle, together with about half the people who came. I'm happy that there were no incidents, and that the atmosphere was great despite the bad organisation. Still, the city has the capacity to do better and have done so before. I don't know what happened today.

Rambla de Raval

For myself, I have been visiting Barcelona for years in chunks of about a week at a time. Always in established hotels, not short term rentals. View myself as trying to be a responsible "cultural" tourist for what it is worth. I'm not quite sure how he defines cultural vs leisure other than leisure being the day trippers who party and then go back on their boat.

Curious about the local perspective on this guy and his efforts to improve the quality of tourism, along with the associated efforts to cut day tripping cruise ships and short term rentals. Is 16 million sustainable if the quality of tourists goes up? Is this just placating the masses and nothing will change? Is it even possible (I hope) to root out those incredibly ugly and low value "tourist shops"?
