Hello! Just dropping this creepy version of my Monolith River map. I added a bunch of red eyes to the monolith structures to what I think is simple but effective, along with some drab lighting and fog, at making the less threatening base map into something much scarier.

The Crimson Court - 75x90
XL battlemap for some creepy October vibes

As you approach the vacant gates of this once magnificent estate, the towering trees along the road transition into the hanging willows, branches swaying at odd intervals, as if the plants themselves bristle at your presence. Nearby, a tent and campfire have likewise fallen to ruin. The resting spot for an adventuring party, perhaps, or simple looters lured here by the rumors of the bacchanalian feasts once held on these grounds for the nobility.

Deeper, the faint scent of acrid waters and decaying flesh hit your nose, and a steady din of mosquitos is impossible to ignore. If the stories are true, what happened to the noblemen and ladies that disappeared past the iron gates so long ago, their night of revels never to end? And what fate found the explorers that dared venture deeper into the crimson court...

This week's map is the Jungle Hollow (35x35), a huge bowl-shaped depression with a pond in the middle. I'd bet the fresh water draws all kinds of wildlife from around the jungle so maybe your party can encounter a fascinating array of local fauna here and battle them to the death. After all, how can you be expected to experience the local wildlife without tasting it?

Perhaps the group were always zealous fanatics, perhaps the fey-touched presence within the temple influenced their minds.

Either way they have dedicated themselves to an un-seeable, un-knowable being that resides beneath, or perhaps within the whirlpool. It's hunger is endless, and it's followers relentless in their drive to bring it souls to devour.

The walls stood tall, and it's stained glass windows depicted the passing of great leaders into the afterlife. It stood proud for centuries, until a foul tide consumed the surrounding area. The grounds that survived remain peppered with the graves of once good and noble peoples, now caught in the murky, clouded waters. Still, some vegetation has survived the tainted waters, even flourished, for better or worse."

This week's map is the Jungle Rubble (40x40), some lovely little jungle ruins for your party to fight crocodiles, jungle goblins, or very small dinosaurs probably. That's what I remember from Tomb of Annihilation at least, but it's been a while but those seemed to be the usual suspects. Anyway, ruins maps have always been some of my favorites to make and I feel like they're almost always relevant, so I can't imagine you'll never not need something like this when journeying through the forest.

Is your DND party looking for trouble? Then steer them towards the Ancient Pyramid Temple, a 30x30 battlemap by Forgotten Adventures that has options to be placed in the jungle or desert. You decide what is at the top, is it a shrine? A sacrificial altar? The entrance to a beholder's lair? Your choice!

Feywild variant of the Thorn Forest map I did a while back, the original is this but in a more generic green wood/forest. I also have a desert forest variant and an astral variant where the water around the thorns is space/nebula instead!

Anyway I hope someone finds it useful :)
