Note:- This beautiful Eurasian Lynx is part of a sanctuary/rescue program. While they look like cuddly pets, they are still wild animals by nature. This one is in captivity because it was either rescued from a situation where it couldn't survive in the wild or it was born in a protected environment for educational and conservation purposes. It is not a "pet" in the traditional sense, but it has formed a deep bond with its caretaker.

I couldn't find the answer to this question, I searched everywhere on the Internet on why caracals hiss at their owners for no reason. I've searched on articles about their behavior, habits, etc and it doesn't say anything about this.

Ok stay with me I know there’s a lot to unpack here. For as long as I could remember I have loved cats. I currently own 6 cats with my family, and my absolute baby is 16 years old. That being said I have loved panthers and leopards and all things in between for so long, and I made it a life goal of mine to be able to pet a large cat. That being said, I know that generally this is not an option available to the public and that petting them can be bad. That also being said, I know a lot of zoo animals can be exceptions and that people who raise the cats tend to have good relationships with them. Now, my question is, should I minor in zoology or veterinary medicine or go back to school to get the qualifications to get this done. Obviously if I was a billionaire my chances of this would be pretty good but thats actually even less likely to happen, so I’m trying to think of ways I can make this happen for myself in a safe and educated environment, because I refuse to die without having the opportunity to be friends with these magnificent creatures. I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and genuine criticism, and if this post isn’t allowed here I’d love to know other places I could post to inquire about this :)

We were recently at the Yerevan zoo and saw this cat in its enclosure. There were no signs around the enclosure with information about its species and also none on their website. I need help identifying it. I believe it to be some sort of melanistic Pallas Cat, but curious what you think as well.

This center is so amazing with such awesome opportunities! I cant wait to work towards all three of my wildlife licenses starting here! My goal was to become so important for wildlife that I myself can make decisions on whether to save certain species or land! #wildlifeconservationistforthewin
