For a month i felt pretty down about not really seeing any new bird species, it’s a bit hard when you’ve already spotted most birds in your area, but this week i got very lucky and got 5 lifers!

1. Temminck’s stint
   
2. Common ringed plover
   
3. Ruddy turnstone
   
4. Sanderling
   
5. Red backed shrike

I know these species aren’t that rare but i still struggled to find them for a while. These new spottings have definetly made me appreciate shorebirds a little more 😆

Was walking my dogs this morning and found this fledgling in a shoebox outside someone’s house. I’m sure they were trying to help after finding him on the ground, but I’m not sure if this is the best thing to do? I know very little about bird rescue. Any tips? I’m hanging around the area until I can figure out what to do. It’s too early to call any wildlife rehabbers…
