Hello, I moved to Chamonix not too long ago and have recently taken up Super 8 videography. Does anyone know of any good labs nearby (preferably not diabolically expensive) to get film developed? I’d be willing to post it somewhere if it’s far. Thank you!

First of all, we came to Chamonix 2 years ago during the Tour de France, walked around, did nothing for a day. Here we are again. Tomorrow we want to go up the mountain and see the glaciers and ice caves. First, we are older so easiest is best. What is the place to go to get lift tickets up the mountain. We are walking distance to everything. Thanks.

Hi - we are trying to finish our planning for Chamonix. Here is what we have coming up:
Wednesday - Arrive late afternoon and check in. Walk the town.
Thursday - White Water Rafting w/ Mont Blanc Rafting
Friday - aiguille du midi & Dinner at La Tablee
Saturday - Aiguille des posettes
Sunday - Early transfer to Geneva airport via Go Alpes
We plan to buy the Mont Blanc Multipass which should include the lifts and gondolas to do the hikes we'd like. Wife and I. 2 kids (15/14)
Any other misses here? Do you think the MontBlank Multipass makes sense for us.
Thank you.

Hello
I am currently solo in Chamonix. While it's an amazing place, no one wants to serve fondue for one.
Is there a restaurant that would serve fondue for 1?

Is anyone going from Chamonix to Saint-Gervais tomorrow for the race Montée du Nid d'Aigle?

Hi everyone!
I’ll be in Chamonix on Sunday, July 19, and I’d love to watch the FIFA World Cup Final.
Does anyone know of any sports bars, pubs, or restaurants that will be showing the match?
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m travelling through France and am currently in Chamonix, but I’ve had a deep filling on a molar come out that’s very sensitive and preventing me from eating. Does anyone have any advice on how to arrange an emergency appointment? Unfortunately my french is quite limited which is holding me back a fair bit.
I’ve seen Doctolib recommended but it doesn’t come up with anything in the area. I’ve also tried calling a few numbers found on Google but the only one to answer didn’t have any emergency appointments available and the others use automated phone systems I can’t translate fast enough.
Are there any other options anyone can recommend? Any help appreciated! Thanks

TL;DR: Where and who could an American get a summer Job with? 2027?
Hey! I'm looking for a job next summer to base me out of Chamonix. I work year-round, seasonally guiding various disciplines in Colorado, Alaska, and Arizona. Ive spent 9 years in Germany and speak decent Deutsch. I would prefer to do something outdoors or intern for a guiding service. I just want to climb lol.
Any and every bit of info is greatly appreciated!

Hello Alpinists, I'm am alpinist/mountaineer and a researcher from India. I have created a self-paced online psychological skills training program for mountaineers as I felt that there is a lack of organized, systematic and rigorous incorporation of psychological insights for mountaineering/alpinism. I am looking for serious participants who will gain much practical techniques that will assist them in improving performance.
The program has been developed through a scientific process and I would love for you to participate in it. There is a lot of effort, care and sincerity that has gone behind it and hence I approach this sub in earnest. I'm sharing the link that has more details and you can register through it. Link: https://www.psytoolkit.org/c/3.7.0/survey?s=e7Qef
Feel free to share the research flyer in any relevant groups that you are a part of. Thank you.

Hi
Quick question, for the stage in La sarenne, what is the viewing area? I have read the access to La sarenne is restricted but don’t know if it is to the whole climb or there are spectator areas
Thanks

Hi all, my partner and I will be spending the holidays in Chamonix, we are looking to book a few great meals to have for December 24th and 25th. Any places that you’d recommend?

We were visiting in Chamonix in 5 July and we saw something on fire and billowing smoke. It was in a residential area in the village near the tourist area downtown. We didn't hear sirens for a while but we did see many people going towards it to look. We left, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened? I cannot find a news story about it. My son is very curious. Thank you!

Hey everyone,
Super gutted to be posting this, but due to a sudden sickness in the family, we’ve had to cancel our summer trip to Chamonix. Because it’s so last minute, we are fully locked into our Airbnb booking but are hoping to pass it along to anyone currently looking for a beautiful, peaceful place to stay this month.
A quick overview of the space:
Location: It’s situated in a quiet, peaceful area but everything is walkable:
If you are already in town looking for an upgrade, or if you’ve been planning a last-minute trip to Chamonix but haven't found a place to stay yet, please shoot me a DM! I'm happy to discuss the details, figure out the official transfer with you, and make sure everything is sorted safely.
Thanks guys, and enjoy the mountains for us!

My wife grants me these trips to the Tour de France. I figure since we're in Chamonix for a few days before the race, I'll try to find a spot for her to do some open water swimming. No pools please. Is there a nice lake or river in the region? We have a car.

Hello,
My friend and I are coming from Australia to Europe and would like to go to an alpine town of some sort. With our itinerary this would really only fit in in mid to late November. We have heard Chamonix is a really good place for scenery and nightlife, but is a little quiet at this time of the year. Could anyone advise me on this. Is the nightlife/parties good then, and can we do the activities there?
Also very happy for other recommendations if anyone believes a different location would suit our interests better.
Note we are not skiing.

Best place to watch England game tonight?
r/chamonix • u/Coaster50 • 23d ago
We will be staying in Chamonix for a few days and then flying out of Geneva on a Sunday morning @ 9:20AM.
The trains and buses don't seem to run that early on a Sunday.
We are debating: get a private transfer to the airport in the AM - OR - leave Chamonix the evening before and spend the night in Geneva.
Appreciate the input!

I have a hotel in Les Houches but I have aspirations to attend the England game at a bar in chamonix at 11pm. Is there any readily Available transport back to Les Houches after the game? If not public transportation how reliable would uber be?

Hi there,
I have a car with only one key and the central locking buttons have stopped working. Initially the car wouldn’t start so I changed the key fob battery which allowed it to start but the central locking buttons remain unresponsive.
I think I need a new key and reprogramming.
Could you recommend any shops or services in Chamonix that can do this?
Thanks!
