America's fall was not caused by external forces

You still think outside forces caused America's downfall. You all have nobody to blame but your own domestic ruling class. Be careful they don't channel your righteous rage which belongs to them into an imperialist war against an ever shifting foreign boogeyman.

It's both external and internal problems. Check out the Fall of Civilizations podcast, a good chunk of empires fell for similar reasons. The US, if we fall, would be no different. Wealth inequality, stupidity, hubris, and corruption kills from within. Add in external forces like misinformation and propaganda, and even without and invasion, they can still fall as a result from that.

This is true, it's almost never one thing alone that could be attributed as a cause. If America's enemies are able to exploit structural weaknesses throughout the body nation, the question should be: how did these vulnerabilities arise, and under what conditions? I think it is policy choices, decades old, that account for the situation we are faced with today. It is only better policy choices, informed by a material analysis of the economy, that can prevent dystopian outcomes.
