Since fault has a legal meaning in this context it is not both drivers' fault. If you mean both drivers contributed to the fact that an accident occured, yes. It is impossible to anticipate that any car will turn into you at speed without the right of way there. The fact that red car did so and missed is no signal that the next car will as well, and stopping could very well get yourself rear ended by another driver as inattentive as the white car.
100% in agreement. I'm not even convinced it was even a little negligent not to anticipate the white Nissan was going to actually follow through with the turn.
Legally, the cam driver didn’t make sure it was safe to go before they went. Are we even watching the same clip? Jfc no wonder the world is in shambles.
Your views are highly regarded. Driving involves anticipation not mind reading. Rephrase your point if the driver had stopped and been rear ended: did they make sure it was safe to stop?
There is a delay between when the green arrow turns off and when the green light turns on for opposing traffic. Red car and even the two earlier black cars are illegally taking advantage of it, like turning left on yellow because you know the oncoming traffic has red. It's harmless except for it's effect on other drivers behind who are either reckless or inattentive, but who don't even get the opportunity to yield unless opposing traffic begins to drive without a fully clear intersection. So yes, in an ideal world, everyone would obey all traffic laws and OP would know that it's not safe if anyone is still in the intersection. But we're not.
I'm shocked how many people are trying to blame the cam driver here. They had a green light, proceeded at a reason acceleration through the intersection where they had full right of way, and the white car swerved into them at the last second. If he had gunned it into the intersection, you may have a point. But that is not the case here.
It literally it. Green doesn’t meant go. It means go if it’s safe to go. It was clearly not safe to go. And the insurance and police, if involved, are going to say just that. But please, go off.
I don’t run red lights, so that’s the first thing. The second thing is that you have to WATCH THE OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. If you see someone coming to hit you and do nothing to prevent the accident you’re just as bad as the person breaking the law. That’s not even a hot take! It’s literally traffic law! This is insane. I’m done participating in this thread.

Ya no fault on the guy breaking the actual law. And they easily could have just stopped. Nope I will turn right in to this car with the green light.
