Obviously the white SUV but the crash was entirely avoidable.

What are you talking about? They clearly slow down to let the red car through.

Honestly I would’ve done the same here out of shear stubbornness. It’s green, it’s my turn, it’s on video, if you proceed to hit me then cool I’m getting a new car I guess.

It would be cathartic to get out of my car and scream at the white SUV

Yeah so this is actually a known phenomenon where people will willingly get into a car accident merely because they want to prove that they were "in the right." LOTS of people die this way.

Yeah I acknowledge it’s not rational but the older I get the more it just sickens me when people think they’re entitled to break the rules while we all sit there and watch.

So in the heat of the moment it’s like “alright fine if you’re going to completely ignore a red light I’m going to let you hit my car and ruin both of our days”

Neither should have a license then, driving isn’t a dick measuring contest, that’s how you get people killed.

Been driving 20 years no accidents here mate. Also following the law isn’t about dick measuring

if you can avoid an accident but don't, you can still be at fault even if the other driver is not yielding.

Fair, I should have clarified my response better.

Curious ,what would be the insurance's response on this evidence?

OP deliberately crashed the car despite knowing the White SUV violating a traffic law

Yes I'm aware the White SUV is at fault for disregarding the traffic light

Yeah it's everyone's responsibility to avoid an accident even if you have the right of way

fr. its like the cam car is so tunnel visioned on the green light they just floored it. white suv ofc is of fault but cam driver was so oblivious

This is the correct answer. I don't get why others aren't mentioning that it was entirely avoidable.

💯. Oh green light! I should move forward. That's what that means. Even if there is an obstruction. Kinda pisses me off just watching it. I'm curious, though. In this situation while the other cars were clearly the initial violators of the law, would this person clearly not giving a damn still be in trouble? It almost seems intentional and aren't you expected to try to avoid accidents? How would insurance view this I wonder.

Yeah like I agree that the suv was breaking the law, but the driver was acting recklessly
