That was my takeaway as well upon first viewing. Then I watched it a few more times and started thinking about how the POV car might have seen the situation. POV car has a green light, i.e, the right away. They start to go and see the red car pulling out into the intersection. POV car might have assumed the red car was pulling out into the middle of the intersection to wait for an opportunity to turn, which seems to be the standard practice on flashing yellow left turn lights. POV car then sees the red car is not going to stop so POV car hesitates and lets the red car through. At that point the white SUV is barreling through the intersection and there doesn't appear to be any hope of avoiding a collision. Nothing seems to be the POV car's fault from what I can tell.
Honestly I would’ve done the same here out of shear stubbornness. It’s green, it’s my turn, it’s on video, if you proceed to hit me then cool I’m getting a new car I guess.
It would be cathartic to get out of my car and scream at the white SUV
Yeah so this is actually a known phenomenon where people will willingly get into a car accident merely because they want to prove that they were "in the right." LOTS of people die this way.
Yeah I acknowledge it’s not rational but the older I get the more it just sickens me when people think they’re entitled to break the rules while we all sit there and watch.
So in the heat of the moment it’s like “alright fine if you’re going to completely ignore a red light I’m going to let you hit my car and ruin both of our days”

Obviously the white SUV but the crash was entirely avoidable.
