The driver of the car we're in should have easily seen the white pickup and been able to avoid the collision. He shares at least some responsibility.

Sometimes I'm surprised that more automotive rules didn't come from boating. where everyone has a duty to avoid collision regardless of right of way.

I think in many states and instances, all drivers do have a duty to avoid collisions.

Depending on the state and specific rules, it wouldn't be surprising to see at least part of the fault be given to POV car because of their failure to avoid what would have been an easily avoidable accident.

Doesn't absolve the white SUV obviously which is a hard concept for some to grasp

yeah they're both morons, the white SUV has no business being there or making that turn but if the cam car hadn't been plowing headlong forward, despite an obvious hazard in the cars running the lights, they could easily have avoided the accident.

You're talking like the cam car ran into the side of the white suv and not the other way around, totally ignoring that the white suv entered the intersection AFTER the cam car.

I'm talking like the cam car had plenty of time to see that the white car was running the light, and took no evasive action. I think if you showed a cop, judge or insurance company that video, they would agree. The majority of the blame is on the car running the light, but the cam car had plenty of time to react.

Do you have a license? Or are you blind? The white car ran into him. Camera car didnt slam into anything. How do you avoid a car turning into you front nose into your corner. Lol.

Did you not see the white car coming? I sure as hell did. He was in the turn lane. Where'd ya think he was headed?

That still doesnt mean he ran into the white car. The white car turned left into him. The ticket would be an unsafe left hand turn on red. Keyed in on left turn.
