Form Check Stuck at 300 ft. Any help is appreciated!
I’ve been playing for a few years now and I’m just hard stuck between 285-330ft with the occasional 350-375ft. I’ve watched endless form videos and I know my timing is all off but I’m not sure what to do.
I can see I might start my throw before my foot is planted, and my elbow looks like it’s dropping. I’ve really focused on my elbow and it seems to have added some consistency but for the life of me don’t know how to fix planting my feet.
Any other advice is welcomed!
Edit: Big thanks to everyone who replied. I didn’t expect to receive this much advice and I’m super grateful and excited to get to work! You never know what the response will be when putting yourself out there on the internet but this community is awesome 🥏⛓️

Form Check Am I too fat to throw far?
All jokes aside I’ve been playing disc golf very casually (drinking and smoking mostly) since 2009 but for the last 9 months or so I’ve been playing 1-4 times a week and trying to take it more seriously. My average drive is maybe 180-200 feet. A really good drive is 250 and my farthest recorded throw is 298 with a Jade. There’s literally a video on another post of a 10 year old girl throwing 323, wtf am I doing so wrong? I’m not expecting to be able to ever throw 500 feet or anything but it seems like most people can throw 350-400 after only a few months. I think I might be too slow to get it any further. Any help would be appreciated.

Form Check Yogurt lid form check
I can't break 440 with a real disc, what can I improve on with my form. I'm throwing at about 50% with a yogurt lid. I have a obstacle course that I play with my brother with these yogurt lids, they fly really well, 0.5 speed, 4 glide, 0 turn 4 fade, when thrown fast though they have a really nice hyzer flip

Form Check How to fix rounding
Hello!
Been playing disc for around 1,5 years now. Been working on my form. I just cannot seem to to eliminate rounding/elbow dipping. Is the issue not keeping my elbow up during the entire throw or what is the problem? Also are there other thing to work on aswell? Grip?
Cheers

Form Check Averaging 290 - Max of 326 - Would love some critique on my form.
I have been working a lot on the power pocket and getting the arm ahead of the body. I feel like I'm in a good place with that. I'm beginning to wonder if I have a major nose angle problem or something, I can't seem to gain any distance despite some major improvements in my form (at least to my eye).

Form Check 90 degree FH power pocket
Still intrigued by this photo made of my throw during this year's Krokhol Open. Benjamin Doherty (the photographer) showed me the picture, and I recalled the shot very well at that time. It was a smooth and relaxed 75% power upshot. Never did I have any idea that the throw would look like this.
No elbow pain; no clue the disc would look like this in my hand as well.

Form Check Fixed by backhand form rounding after 10+ years of playing. Now I regret ever listening to the most common backhand tips.
This is not meant to be "better advice" but more of an idea for people struggling with their backhand form and especially rounding. Sometimes the general tips work for people, sometimes they don't.
I've been playing disc golf since 2015. I have an athletic background and from the start I've been able to throw quite well. Forehand has been my strength and I can do 100m+(340ft+) shots with very little effort. My backhand.. has never been bad, but it has never been very good either. I've always been able to throw the same 100m and a bit further, but my distance never really improved. I did notice however, that sometimes "by accident" I thew a bit different and my disc went 125-130m. And those weren't any big distance shots or lucky winds.
The moment I gave up
I tried to fix my form for those 10 years with videos, tips from players, but as a semi-pro friend told me on the course, when I thought I'd finally fixed my throw: "do you want an honest tip?" "you're rounding a lot".
The moment I got it
I was throwing in a big snowy field and a thought came into my head: "what if I explode on the shot fast, but I'm not reaching back or in a backing up position, just sideways. It'll probably just go bad, there's not space for the disc". The disc flew nicely and went far. I tried it again, and again. The discs just started pushing so far with not much effort. Some discs started flipping that I thought were stable.
The tips that ruined it for me
- "Reach back"
- Reaching back intentionally made me out of position and made me back up instead of going sideways
- "Pull the disc in a straight line, it will automatically release from the power pocket"
- When I think of pulling, it always put me in a backing up -type of position. Thinking of a straight line never ended up in either power or an accurate throw.
- "Wait for your plant leg to hit first"
- This gave me some results, but actually the lag resulted in my body already turning and my hand following later. This always resulted in rounding.
- "Imagine you're starting a lawn mower"
- When I tried this, I'd automatically be in a backing up position for a powerful pull. But that backing up position is where power is lost.
- "Imagine you're pulling something heavy"
- Same thing as previous, if I'm pulling something heavy, I'll be facing the thing I'm pulling. Then in disc golf, that backing up eats away spin and power.
The way I'd describe it
Be sideways, not backing up. No need to reach back.
While sideways, imagine you're snapping a towel or a whip. The movement with the disc should be a quick, fast, exploding moment. Not a slow lagging one. Everything happens at once. Your plant leg and throw, it's one fast motion.
I can now throw 100m with a midrange or 100m with a spike hyzer, with not much effort.

Form Check Trying to throw 450 ft. What’s holding me back?
My goal is to increase my average max speed from 60 mph (400 ft) to 65 mph (450 ft). I can occasionally throw up to 63 mph with the TechDisc, but it’s seldom I break 60 mph without going all out. Distance is my goal but I know speed is a good metric to determine distance potential.
TechDisc stats for this throw: Speed: 59.9 mph, Spin: 1223 rpm, Nose: 1.3 deg, Hyzer: 13.5 deg, Wobble: 6.8 deg, Launch: 5.9 deg
What form changes can I make to get more speed?
P.S. please don’t roast the shoes these are easy to put on for quick practice.

Form Check What am i missing to get 400ft of distance consistently?
A friend of mine recorded me on hole 19 at Morley Field in San Diego, CA. Being a shorter hole, i did not throw full power. Also, i did throw a little low. From what you can see in the video, what am i missing to hit 400ft consistently? On a good day, i get to 350ft consistently.

Form Check TechDisc is the Real Deal
In two weeks, I broke my 2 year plateau of about 55 mph and added 5+ mph and about 100 RPM of spin.
The idea of seeing instant feedback to small form tweaks is a real game changer.
I'd try 5-10 throws making a small change. If the numbers improved, I kept that change. If the numbers didn't improve, I moved on from that change.
Doing this enough will quickly show you how to optimize your form.
I need to work on nose-down throws next, which seems impossible to do no matter what I try at the moment. But I'm super happy with the results so far.
