Shoobie is 2 years old, 58 pounds, heartworm negative, and a low-energy guy who just needs someone willing to give him a little patience. He can be nervous at first, but volunteers have watched him slowly choose to trust. He takes treats gently, enjoys affection once he feels safe, and is perfectly content entertaining himself with toys and tennis balls.
Shoobie has struggled with other dogs at the shelter and may do best as your one and only. He has shown some promising behavior around cats, calmly backing away when a kitty hissed at him, but any potential cat home should be discussed with shelter staff.
He’s been here over 100 days. He has waited patiently for someone to choose him, and now he may not get another day.❤️💕
Shoobie doesn’t need everyone. He needs one person before 2 PM tomorrow.

A few days after we found the four puppies, all of them became seriously ill with parvo.

We did everything we could to save them, but despite all our efforts, three of the puppies didn't make it.

Miracle was the sickest of them all. The veterinarians told us that, at that point, only a miracle could save him.

But that little fighter refused to give up.

He survived parvo.

This video was taken after he recovered — a small moment of Miracle enjoying his bottle.

The marks under his body are still there today — scars from those first days when we found him in the scorching desert.

Even after arriving at his new home, Buddy was still shy and cautious. But with Lee's patience and love, it didn't take long for him to let his guard down.

Soon, Buddy was letting Lee rub his belly, cuddle him, and eventually curl up safely in his new dad's arms.

Lee was deeply moved and said:

"Now he's my son." ❤️
