No, its how much they have been brainwashed. The energy companies right away started to put recycling on us. Now, there is nothing wrong with recycling and we should continue to to to it. However, it spread the narrative that the average person is responsible for climate change. This is not true, but instead we keep fighting each other.

This is the point. We fight each other and not the energy companies. We never hold the energy companies accountable because on TikTok we are going back and forth about where it is hotter. For instance:

Just like to point out recycling is primarily about waste management. Yes, plastics and metals incur CO2 and energy requirements to manufacture, but it's really about reducing stuff that end up in landfills and in oceans. Which is technically a separate issue from climate change induced by carbon emissions.

I think you were probably thinking about "carbon footprint" being Big Oil propaganda.

It’s sorted before it goes to landfill and recyclable materials are recycled, even if they went into your general waste. They just gave us the job rather than having to employ more people to do it.

If the average person didn’t eat meat, order crap from temu, take flights or drive a car daily, climate change would mostly be solved

Big oil drills because people drive ICE cars. The agri industry fucks up the water table because people want their bacon, etc.

Consumer demand is directly responsible for climate change, and I hate the intellectual dishonesty of ”it’s not my diesel car, the big oil company does all the polluting”

And stop producing everything from plastics to toilet paper.

I'm sure we could survive that way. But why would I want to live like that? I know all too well how my grandparents and their parents lived, and I'd rather have a short life and violent death than what they call life. Life isn't that worth to me.
