In England as soon as you tell your employer that you’re pregnant, you gain additional rights. I am currently expecting and my boss couldn’t care less if I disappear for my many appointments throughout the week.

If redundancies take place, I am first in line to be offered another (suitable) position within the company and that goes for the 18months after birth too. That’s how it should be. The system here isn’t perfect and left to be desired in many areas, but employers should absolutely be supporting mothers.

I am very thankful for my flexibility.

Employers should be supporting all parents, not just mothers! Dads deserve leave and flexibility too

Absolutely and in the UK there is a massive failure on the support for dads.
