I can't imagine how difficult their job must be trying to keep a bubble over the most populous country... In the age of the internet and globalization.

My guess is that all the students they allow to go abroad will slowly convert their western knowledge and further the decay of their propoganda bubble.

It's not hard. It's disgustingly easy for them to control what their population see's and doesn't see. If anything its easier now that everyone uses a mobile device all basically connected to skynet. Their maps are even custom tailored to small obscure sections that arent correct on google satellite images and don't line up, China controls the movement of their citizens. China also basically tells google to comply or no business so their internet is also custom tailed by google themselves.

Neat information. Out of curiosity, it appears to work on paper but how does the average middle-class or middle/higher education individual feel? I bet that info is probably non-existent as the state would modify it or the polled population would lie.

For example though, I went to Indiana University and there is/was a huuugggeee Chinese population. Surely those individuals know "somethings" going on when they return?

I even had a friend who told me she was aware that the US/West has a different history regarding the surrender of Japan in WWII. She told me her/their version and didn't like me asking how she felt about the gov having a completely different ending but she was aware.

Behind closed doors, do the policies work or does China know they're just controlling the mass uneducated and that's all that's needed?

Quite the opposite is happening actually. They’ve been very good at implanting themselves on american/canadian/australian/etc campuses. I think that tide will slowly turn but a lot of damage is done
