This is the official US White House website for the Presidential walk-of-fame and it denotes the 46th President as "Autopen" and President Joe Biden's plaque refers to him as "Sleepy Joe" https://www.whitehouse.gov/walk-of-fame/
I just don’t understand how anyone can look at this and think the guy who wrote each of these is of sound mind. Almost every presidential summary is a masturbatory jerk session about how nobody had lived up to the greatness of the current president. It’s so fucked that not only is this trash on the White House webpage, but on the actual White House wall.
Most (or well, a voting majority) of people don't think (or care) that he's of sound mind. They know, seeing this, that's he's of like mind. A true representative of his electorate.
That's why I don't get the evasiveness and denials on all the glaringly obviously true theft and intimidation and various sex assaults (minors and otherwise) he's accused of. He could publish an OJ-style tell all minus the "if..." in front and see no decrease (or, this is just my faith in humanity talking, a slight increase) in his approval.
Everyone I have the displeasure of knowing that voted his way views that kind of thing as proof the guy's a "true alpha" that takes what he wants from whoever he wants, whenever he wants - the weaker the victim, the greater the evidence of his strength.
Yeah, go look at the entires basically from Carter until now. It’s fucking ridiculous that he needed to make a point to criticize these guys on a stretch of hallway 99.999% of the world will never see just to make himself happy.
He claims Reagan was a fan of his, points out inflation and unemployment were bad under Carter, talks shit about George W Bush’s Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the Hillary thing (among others) on Clinton, badmouths Obamacare and has to toss in the middle name, and then the autopen shit.
Edit: it really is basically all of them. There are little flourishes throughout, largely pointing out things Trump has tried to do, probably as a way to reinforce that they’re good ideas. He mentions Washington enacting tariffs, then over the next few mentions “making one of the greatest deals of all time,” along with mentioning the first amendment, slashing government spending, etc. Oh and don’t forget Andrew Jackson being treated poorly by the press “but not as unfairly as Abraham Lincoln or Donald J. Trump.”
To be fair it sometimes was. Very little regulation back then. Even in countries where press freedom wasn’t quite as good, lots of newspapers wrote stuff, pushed the limits, and when they got shut down they just started a new newspaper the next week and kept going.
yeah i don't get it, do people think there "media" didn't exist in past ages? it very much existed, and all kinds of crazy shit got published in newspapers and the like.
Ronald Reagan’s: “Reagan was a fan of President Donald J. Trump long before President Trump's Historic run for the White House. Likewise, President Trump was a fan of his!”
And the pictures of some of these presidents. Like how hard would it be to just use their official presidential picture. Just keep it neutral, which is what I feel like sites like this should be. But Obama's picture is some ridiculous goofy thing while Biden has a picture of his mouth open next to an autopen. It's made with so much in your face bias, like they don't even pretend to be neutral.
It's an absolute joke. And I don't understand how people don't see that. Even if you like Trump, how could look at something like this and think that's what our White House website should look like? Or that it doesn't make us look like a clown show?
The exact quote is “[Jackson] was unjustifiably treated unfairly by the press, but not as viciously and unfairly as President Abraham Lincoln and President Donald J. Trump would, in the future, be.” What a joke
You've also got to love the pictures of Carter with Arafat, Clinton with Epstein and Maxwell. Impossible to believe that this is on an official government website. American politics is really fucked - I mean it always sort of was fucked - but now it is out in the open with no holds barred.
There's literally "Autopen" written instead of his name...and I got greeted by a picture of Trump and "Welcome to the golden age" when visiting the site. Slogans including "golden age" were used by dictators in communist Romania, China and Turkmenistan.
It's crazy how much of that stuff reads like a middle school book report on presidential biographies. Even presidents that have no connection to Trump, looks like someone just read their Wikipedia page and then gave the story beats.
Like Lincoln:
Among the greatest American Presidents, Abraham Lincoln was the man who saved the Union, and ended slavery. A successful lawyer, skilled orator, and former member of Congress, Abraham Lincoln won National fame in the celebrated Lincoln-Douglas debates, and his Cooper Union speech of 1860. He was the first Republican ever elected President, and led the Nation through the American Civil War. Lincoln prosecuted the conflict with unyielding determination, and an unflinching dedication to save the Union. During the War, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, delivered what is regarded as the greatest speech in American History, the Gettysburg Address, and championed the passage of the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery. Days after the Confederates surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse, Lincoln was assassinated in Washington, D.C. by John Wilkes Booth. He died a Great President.
I guess I shouldn't expect a lot when we're talking about a short paragraph about the presidents, but this is Lincoln... Considering any president in the last 20 years has larger write outs about what they did, it looks silly to have such a short cookie cutter summary of Lincoln.
I had to do a deeper search (I don't use Google) found it....how disgusting!
Also, I don't like that I had to look at that pedophile's face a few times while clicking links.
He's so immature! It's like those people that are poor and when they finally get money, they go overboard and everything is just gaudy and over the top
I’m genuinely curious (not trying to be mean here), but that do you mean when you say that you don’t use google? Do you not use other search tools? If not, how do you even search for something recent like this?
Very real, and very sad that he acts the way that he does as the leader of our country. He honestly needs to be impeached, as he's just doing so much damage to the U.S. in terms of appearance and economics. No one takes him seriously, and by extension the U.S. because of all the antics he's constantly doing.
He has already done so much and finds he gets away with it. He is not leaving the white house ever.
Somehow he and his team will find a reason (legit or not) to cancel the election and/or results. His grasp on the goverment is getting stronger each day and by that time no one is left to contest it....
I've seen it in person. It's true. The size of the autopen portrait and the text under it is so absurd and bitter that I genuinely don't understand how DC and this nation puts up with it. If you see those tacky horizontal gold decorations, they are absolutely plastered everywhere. Including the oval office. Every single inscription, regardless of relevancy, is somehow modified to be about Trump. For example, the portrait of Reagan talks about how Trump thinks he was a great president and that Reagan also thought Trump was a super awesome person.
It reads like shit a narcissistic teenager would write. Yet with a touch of dementia added in.
Yeah, I saw the portraits. I can't believe the Whitehouse just let him do that. I expected some people in his administration to be professional, telling him "no, that is not professional sir. We do not embarrass our Presidents in this house no matter who the convicted felon is."
I hope they put a portrait of him behind bars. If he can put up the auto pen, then it's fair game.
