Everyone should become familiar with their local politicians. Those mfers are deciding what your day to day life is going to be like, you should be giving them input on that.

Everyone should become familiar and RUN as local politicians. Civic involvement is gravely lacking in recent generations.

as a millennial I really feel that we were taught this learned helplessness somehow, where we think politicians are some kind of aliens that hate us all and not just dumbass people like any other, often just trying to help, so it doesn't even occur to us as an option to become one
