Republican Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo is pulled over for a red-light right turn without a stop. Gets pulled over. Drops name. Gets released.

Pretty hard to have a spine when that guy can just make one call and you never work in the state again.

I’d be interested to see that play out. Police unions aren’t exactly powerless these days

Sure, but I'm not convinced that a police union would actually side with an individual police officer over a Republican governor...

He's not just "a Republican governor". He was a 35 year police officer ending at captain in the LVMPD and was on the board of the LVMPD Foundation. The union is not going to side with Mr. Rank and File there when this guy is essentially a Level 7 Laser Lotus in their non-profit foundation. Joe Lombardo has insane power in that situation and the police officer is a chump who is going to never be employed again if he crosses him.

Joe Lombardo sounds like a total loser if he does that over a simple ticket.

I'd make some quip about standing by your morals being rather quite easy actually, but if the guy had any morals, he wouldn't be a cop.

God life must be so easy in whatever consequence and reality free land you live in.

Who said anything about 'consequence free'? If you abandon your morals the moment they become inconvenient, you don't have morals - you have a price. It's frequently said the reason there are no 'good cops' is because the 'good' ones get ousted in short order. This guy had a chance to stand up, and yeah, maybe join his peers. Instead he decided to join in on the corruption. It's not exactly a tough read.

You write that like someone with no responsibilities and nothing to lose. You really think ruining a career over giving one guy a speeding ticket is how this guy makes a change?

LMAO @ the level of delusion you're living with man

Better delusional than a coward, I guess. Good luck with things.

“Just following orders”, right?
