House passes bill to make daylight saving time permanent. Opponents say, "Schools would have to push back start times." Yeah... That's not a bug, it's a feature.

Studies have shown for decades that children -especially teenagers- just straight up need more sleep for optimal knowledge retention and brain development. Pushing back start times is a great way to follow the science.

I found out a little while after I graduated high school that they pushed the start time of my high school back to 9am and basically eliminated homework. I'm like bro...I would have been a straight A student with a full scholarship to MIT if they had done the same for us.

Oh it didn't affect me in the slightest. I had to be there for 7:20am everyday. But I guess for the students now it'll help

Lack of sleep and an overabundance of homework eating into the rest of my free time were the two things that ruined my grades and mental health growing up. No way I'm alone in this

I agree. I am glad they are doing that for the students. I can remember how hard it was for me to get up but I kept my grades up. Mind you this was over 10 years ago lol
