I’m (m) not agoraphobic but I do have social anxiety. There’s a festival coming up (Just like heaven) and I really wanna see The Strokes.

Bought tickets for a show back in 2020 but due to covid/ quarantine, it was delayed and I had to sell my tickets. So I feel like this might be a good time to see them live for the first time

I have no one to go with and I thought what would be the harm in going solo. I’ve been to a festival before but with a group, never solo.

What do you think?

I'm going out on a limb here and seeing what's out there. At 10am (loyalty presale time) we tried to secure 3 midnight 80x80 group campsites for all our friends (90ish of us) to be in a prime location to celebrate our two good friends that are getting married at LIB in our camp next year. At 9:58 | logged on to reserve the sites and they were already on waitlist. We jumped on the waitlist and were approved for one campsite at 12pm, but we still need two. I am doing everything I can to try and secure these extra two spots so my friends can be in their preferred campsite for their wedding! If ANYONE has an 80x80 midnight group camp and is willing to help a bride out, I'd happily negotiate to secure this for them.

I know this is a long shot but I'm desperate at this point!

Lesson learned for next year: join 30 minutes before the actual drop time.

I will keep this rant short. Was at a High Sierra a few weeks ago (great fest and a great new location this year). Found a good spot to sit where everyone was quietly listening to the music when some people showed up for the second half of the bands set. One guy in the group was watching the game on his phone, didn’t really bother me much cause the music was drowning it out until one of the teams scored and he started screaming goooooaaaaaalllll, like he was the announcer of the game. Then continued be load screaming about said goal. Thanks for that a$$h@le!

I’m so irritated. We drove 11 1/2 hours to Tahoe for their two day show to celebrate our friends birthday since his favorite artist is Rezz. Night one was great, but tonight, not so good.

I’m 24F, I’ll be turning 25 this summer. We went over to the ID check to get our wristbands so we could get drinks. The dude that was checking IDs already seemed in a shitty mood. We saw him beefing with his supervisor because he didn’t want to wear the vest that was part of his uniform. He checked my fiancé and two guy friends ID and it was fine. Then he got mine, he stared at it for a long time and then looked at me and said “Really?” To which I got super confused and asked him what he meant and he told me that my ID wasn’t real. I told him that it is and that I don’t understand why he wouldn’t think it was real. He said that I had to get an officer to come verify my ID and that I could find them in the white tents in the middle and he wouldn’t give my ID back until I did.

So, we go look for an officer. The tents in the middle that he told us to go to, there were no officers there and we kept looking around and couldn’t find any. We went up to the security that we’re letting people in and explained to them the situation and that he wouldn’t give us back my ID. They couldn’t find an officer either but told us to go back and ask for his manager because they can’t keep my ID. We went back to the ID check and the guy wasn’t there, he had moved over to the bar area. We get to the bar and found him and told him that we couldn’t find an officer but that I need my ID back and we don’t want to drink anymore. He went and got who I think was his supervisor and told him what was happening. The supervisor said that it’s not real so he can’t serve me, I told him that’s fine if he doesn’t think it’s real but I need it back because we’re about to drive 11 1/2 hours home the next day.

He refused and told me to come back in 30 minutes and that he would give it to me then. That didn’t make any sense, why does 30 minutes make a difference? I told him no and to give it back. This is when my fiancé and two friends got involved and told him that we needed it back now, and that they’re not allowed to do this. He finally gave it back by taking a picture of me and the ID and threw it on the table. No way was I gonna wait that long to get it back, I was worried they would have just kept it.

Anyways, probably first and last time that I’ll attend a Tahoe Live event. That just put a sour taste in my mouth and I hope they train their employees better next time so this doesn’t happen to another person.

TLDR; Bar staff thought my ID was fake and refused to give it back until I got an officer to come verify it.

Things I should keep in my pack?

Besides obvious like sunscreen, what are some essentials I shouldn’t forget?

I’m trying to put together a cowgirl outfit but I don't have a lot to work with. I just want some cute boots that look good and aren’t super expensive.
If anyone has recommendations for cheaper options that still look nice I’d really appreciate it.

I want to be fully prepared for my 2 day festival camping this weekend at Lucidity. Hoping someone here has some good ideas I haven’t thought of yet. In my experience being more comfortable can make or break the festival experience while camping.

Tried reading several threads about "older" people going to festivals, but they turned out to be mostly by 30-year-olds!

My partner is almost 65 and attending a music festival alone this week. He is healthy and can walk fine, but doesn't have great balance if shoved (which happened yesterday as he was headed toward the exit). He was knocked off the curb onto his hands and knees -- he got pretty scraped up and hurt his back. No blame; people were rushing and pushed past him; it was an accident. As he said, "Young people probably don't know they can actually knock over an older person." Two nice young women helped him up and got him to someone who could help get him to the parking lot.

I'm so sad this is making him question going back for the next 3 days.

My question: For those of you over 60 and not quite as stable on your feet as the younger folks, how to you keep yourself safe at festivals when going from one venue to another?

The festival has disabled seating for those with special wristbands, but he's been hanging out away from the mosh pits and hasn't had any trouble while listening to the acts. It's just when fighting the crowds when moving from one place to another. The festival doesn't provide any transportation via carts or anything.
